Malfatron Posted July 30, 2020 Author Share Posted July 30, 2020 Val, Earl, and Rhonda finally return to the town, and they explain their ordeal to the rest of the townsfolk, minus Burt and Heather, as well as the true nature of the creatures and decide to make a plan to escape the town by heading west to the solid granite mountains and walk to Bixby since the Graboids can't penetrate the rock. Also, the doctor's wife tearfully retails her story regarding the demise of Jim. Burt and Heather return to their home. Burt starts mixing shotgun shells, while Heather, carrying her rifle, starts fixing the fence on the perimeter. Burt suddenly hears Heather yell and a shot rings out. He rushes outside to see Heather's rifle on the ground by the fence and no sign of her. "What the hell's going on", he yells as he grabs some large guns. He never saw Heather again.
