SemperFeist
The AFC is loaded. And probably to the point where it will cannibalize itself. Some owners aren’t going to be happy when their $30M-$40M players fail to reach the playoffs.

SemperFeist
At least the Browns have their “adult” in the QB room.
SemperFeist
I’d say it will be funny when the NFL suspends Watson for 6 games, but I’m guessing that this trade signifies that teams aren’t concerned about a significant suspension.

Probably not. I've already thought that they probably wouldn't, because even though he was paid last year, he was essentially suspended by the team the entire season. In lesser news, the Chiefs are signing Ju-Ju Smith Schuster...so the rich get richer. Edited March 18, 2022 by swede700
SemperFeist
All this fire power in the AFC, only for its champion to lose to Tom Brady in the Super Bowl.

I mean, behind Rodgers and Brady, a case could be made for Kirk as the NFC's 3rd best QB.

SemperFeist
The NFL has to be expecting a salary cap jump close the $300M. For where the cap is set, these contracts make very little sense if the league only plans to increase it $20M-$30M.

And I maintain my prediction that Cousins won’t be in the top 10 of QB contracts by the start of training camp.
SemperFeist
I’m stealing this from Twitter, but it’s a gem. At the end of the day, it wasn’t the fully guaranteed $230M that got DeShaun Watson to change his mind, it was that after being told no, the Browns persisted. A great match between team and quarterback.
wcblack34
Glad we're not the team that made that mistake.
