His contract isn't quite the detriment as Heywards. And he is younger and healthier in general. Also Atlanta is not in dire need to move a contract to sign a young developing star player. I would rather Grant get moved for Ayton or a top 10 pick but if that doesn't happen, we should take advantage of the Hornets situation. Maybe throw in a second or distant future pick swap? Gives them cap flexibility after this year with Holmes gone and Barnes/Grant off the books but they still get to draft Murray. Would the suns then do Holmes and Olynyk/Stewart/Hayes for Ayton?

The probability that you get a top 10 pick for him now is slim to none, imo.

He should be worth more than that. But doesnt seem to be overly valuable. So if it means getting the guy I think is a future star, then use him to get that star. FWIW the most recent reports have been that the Hawks/Pistons are the teams that have been most linked to Ayton.

Yea, his on court impact is worth more than that but the market doesn’t seem to be too hot for him right now, I think his age and needing a new contract after this year coming a friendly team deal may be causing some hesitation. As a kings fan I’m taking that deal 100% of the time though. Edited June 22, 2022 by Fureys49ers

The Blazers seemed like an ideal trade partner but it looks like they fell in love with Sharpe. And I think the other teams are waiting until free agency before they pull the trigger on a trade.
