Louis Friend
I really didn't want to start this thread after the last game thread, but I can't believe it's been two weeks, we are playing Sunday Night Football on primetime and we have no game thread. Nnivolcm
No one wanted to start their GDT streak against Pittsburgh with our injury situation.
JLambert58
Good luck Gents. I think you have a very good chance of winning this game. Steelers apparently are 0-5 after playing the Bengals recently and additionally 0-5-1 when heading into the bye. Haven't checked those numbers but couple that with the Lions record coming off the bye the last few years and it could very well go your way tonight. But when we ran our Aggressiveness Index numbers for 2014, we had a bit of a surprise. Not counting catch-up situations, Caldwell went for it more often on fourth down than any other head coach in the NFL. The Lions went for it 14 times in 107 possible fourth-down situations that qualify for the Aggressiveness Index, or 13.1 percent. Marc Trestman and his Chicago Bears were second in both categories, going for it a dozen times for 12.8 percent of opportunities. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stat-analysis/2015/aggressiveness-index-2014 Caldwell is actually one of the more aggressive head coaches when it comes to taking chances. SimbaWho
Get that screen game working early, open up the run/play actions later, linemen will need confidence early and blocking downfield getting positive yards is a good way to build that confidence up. Not the best straight run blocking team not great in pure pass protection with the personnel we have now. Lions offense has to get creative with their calls to allow the linemen to do easier jobs in different areas of the field. TE play needs to be good today also, I don't trust Ebron, so Fells/Roberts need to take advantage of the matchups they get on passing downs and make plays on the Steelers LB'ers. Also with out saying those two will have to block more than just "well" today. Most of all. Stafford needs to be our best player. He'll need to make about a half of a dozen big plays this game to keep us in it let alone win it.

theuntouchable
TJ jones isn't a great option by any means but he is a smart player and finds a way to get open in broken situations.
