That's going to be the issue.    Even if it's inadvertent if Lock made contact with DE (or DE made contact with Lock) then he's down at 15.

Well that's a killer play.

It's hard to even fault Lock - except that lack of ball security is exactly what we've seen (pocket awareness with strip sacks like vs. LAC, except we recovered it, etc.).    Can't fault the effort, but it's kinda classic Lock - arm talent limited by ball security and poor read/recognition and bad footwork (and belief he can make the hero play when his skills aren't hero-like).

This is a massive 3rd down, the D needs to hold here.

Given how decimated their OL is, you can't help but be impressed by Burrow's pocket awareness and functional mobility.

It's like we were talking about on the first page right? Burrow just has the smarts of a wily vet. Also like we said Mixon very underrated. I'm surprised we haven't seen much of Chase. I'd be curious to see the coaches film to see if it's a Surtain thing or a scheme thing

Say what you will, but the offense is already considerably more exciting to watch. Lock also seems like he is always about a play away from doing something colossally idiotic.

Yeah agreed. Not saying we’re better w/ Lock but we’re definitely more frisky

Sutton was open, and Lock missed him because he threw high and flat footed.

Just so we're clear, TeddyB has been awful, so anything is an upgrade.  But Lock's propensity to make mistakes AND his problems with mechanics/slow read progression/lack of pocket awareness, and how good the rest of our team is, are why the coaches went with TeddyB so the O wouldn't lose games against inferior teams.   But we should always recognize Lock's arm talent and his aggressiveness outstrip TeddyB by a long shot.  It's just that he never made progress on the flaws.   The INT vs. LAC and the high throw are exactly the weaknesses Lock had in year 2 - and it doesn't look like it's improved this year, either.

Contrast that to Burrow, who had the smarts to BOTH take the sack instead of throwing the ball away on 2nd down (and force us to use our 2 TO), and then stand heroically against pressure AND deliver a strike on 3rd down to Boyd to put us on the brink.

It sucks that our D is on the field right now trying to get the ball back - they deserve SO much better.
