That doesn't answer the question, but we may be able to sign both.

Are either future HC material?

If the Vikings have the opportunity to obtain Brown as the OC, they should pursue that. Maybe they still end up with Phillips as OC, maybe Phillips comes over in another role; or maybe he stays with the Rams. Things are fluid right now, it's hard  to be absolute with these things.

Brown has already interviewed for a HC gig this cycle (Miami) and is seen as a rising star amongst NFL circles. So yeah, I think he has HC potential down the line.

Thomas Brown: Offensive Coordinator

Wes Phillips: QB Coach/Assistant Head Coach

I thinks that’s about the only way you’d be able to take both coaches from the Rams without one being allowed out of their contract.

Sign me up. I think McVay will bring back Liam Cohen for OC anyways.

The only role I am not too thrilled with is the new TE coach. It seems like he has a new team each year and the stops he's been at, the TE production hasn't particularly stood out. On top of that, he's also passing game coordinator? Why not just bring Phillips over as his same role and slap an AHC tag on him?

That is the only one that confuses me a bit but I will defer to the experts.

I don’t usually hold a poor level of production against a position coach, because how a position is used isn’t generally up to said coach. His job is to teach his players their job.

I understand that. I think the main point was the constant jumping around. He's been a TE coach in the NFL since 2012 and the Vikings will be his 6th team.

FWIW, Cooley attended John Carroll University, which is the same school that produced London Fletcher, Josh McDaniels, Bill Polian's kids Chris and Brian, Mike Priefer's dad Chuck, Greg Roman Don Shula and the GMs for the Texans, Raiders and Chargers.
