Jlash Posted February 22, 2022 Share Posted February 22, 2022 I didn't grow up in a Star Wars household so I really wasn't introduced to the series until 1-3 came out. So while I know the originals are clearly better films, I find myself gravitating more towards the newer movies if they're on TV. I've never seen Solo though, it looks awful. Also during Rogue One I had such a hard time seeing Galen Urso and not picturing him as Hannibal Lector. That show tainted that actor for me. MWil23 Posted February 22, 2022 Share Posted February 22, 2022 I think the hardest part about the SW Prequel is that you are creating the exact opposite of a redemptive story arc. Plus, there was too much dialogue (unnecessary) and the other scenes felt "rushed" in such long movies. I thought they nailed Palpatine, Qui Gon, Obi Won, Mace Windu, and Queen Amidala. Jar Jar was an abomination. I thought they miscast Anakin (broke the series in the eyes of many) and really rushed the Jedi Death/subsequent hiding and birth of the twins/bringing that full circle. The fight scene in Episode I was still the best, and the Obi Won/Anakin showdown was awesome, except for the terrible "Only a Sith Deals in Absolutes" absolute statement by Obi Won (unintentionally hilarious). TL;DR Episode I was too much desert time. Episode II was solid IMO, but very confusing and a lot of that was never really answered in Episode III or was at least rushed exponentially.
