Texans off-season thread

Question on this - do we know that Cal is any different? Devil you know vs devil you don't know and whatnot...

D. Cal is a typical rich kid who has never done anything but spend Daddy Warbucks money and play with his toys.  He wears a porn stache and shoots cheetahs and big game as trophies, so I don't exactly trust his connection with the real world either, but by most accounts, he actually has a filter and rarely opens his stupid pie hole.  Nobody could tell you what he actually does for the Texans, but he played high school football and he's worked off Kirby for 20 years and since he shares DNA with the boss has "risen" to have a COO title.  There are no actual qualifications to be an owner, so I guess being in the building for two decades makes him practically an expert and at least he'll make his money the old fashioned way, (inheriting it) rather than by laundering fake Enron money or having a public utility pay for his private stadium.  The best thing I can say about him is that he is not the attention whore his father is and doesn't think daddy's money entitles him to impose his inbred myopic worldview on people who just want to watch a team win football games.

call me crazy (which I'm sure you will LOL) but I wouldn't mind signing Dez.  Give Watson as much weapons as possible.  Doubt we go after him because our owner is a stupid idiot who don't take risks, but it sure would be nice to see Watson throw it to Hopkins, Dez and Fuller (in the slot)

Watch him sign with the Patriots.  :(

Ha!  That's exactly what I said to my students (some of whom are Pats fans).

Actually, he alluded to signing with another NFC East team to see Cowpies 2X a year (would likely mean Giants or Eagles)

Eagles don't have cap space.  Doubt Giants do it with OBJ on the team still.  Only team left is Washington.  LOL

Washington pretty much said they were out (Doctson, Quick, Richardson, Crowder).. even tho they should be in

Eagles are not out because of $$$ because he could always take a low deal just to get back at Jerruh (with the defending champs no less)

Edit: Giants make most sense because force more single coverage on OBJ + still have Shepard.   Marshall gums up the works!

I don't know, his production fell off a cliff. He looks slower, no explosion anymore.

I think the team is better off with a cheaper Ellington and Coates. Maybe pick up Deon Cain in the 4th or 5th (because Clemson).

someone mentioned that the cowboys still owe him 8mil this year, so maybe he would be interested in a discount? we do play the cowboys this year...

Technically, we play Cowpokes 2X this year ;)

If Dez was coming here to not be a distraction (hard to predict) and was willing to accept playing a 2nd / 3rd role (don't think that would sit well) + was willing to play at discount (hard to see that as well), I would be all for it.

I'm actually warming up to the idea. Dez lacks the explosion he once had and really can't create separation like he used to, but he's still a pretty good route runner and one of the better guys at grabbing contested passes.

He is what Andre Johnson was his final year in Houston - a guy who can go for 50-70 passes for 600-900 yards, and might have a blow-up game once in a while.

For the right price, I'm down.

I would give him a 1 year deal. Hopkins/Bryant/Fuller would have to be the best trio in the league. 1 year deal at whatever dollar amount. It doesnt matter to me, we have more than we will be able to spend.

yea either us or the Ravens it looks like. I think he really wants to make the Giants work though, I still wouldnt be surprised to see him end up there. He could be the replacement for Bmarsh before its all said and done

I'd be nervous to have him but we do have guys like JJ and Hopkins to kinda keep him in line. I guess maybe we should take the talent where we can get it, considering our lack of picks
