I can’t get over how well he moves for his size + the handles. He looks like a mutant.

Which is why he’s worth everything. As good as garland and Mitchell are they will never be tall enough to guard both guard positions. And as good as Mobley is on defense he will never have the offensive game wemby has. Wemby allows you to do whatever you want with the rest of the team. Kinda like KD. He can fit into anything.

Same. I know you aren’t making a legitimate proposal that we could do this, but there is literally no offer on planet earth that would push SA off pick 1.

Yeah they’re not as dumb as the kings when they passed on Luka and tre young

Please basketball Gods inject Jimmys DAWG personality into the Cavs

Yeah idk who it would be and how things would work out trade wise, but these are the types of dudes this team needs.  We need some grinders who play physical basketball and are mentally tough.

Guys like Garland, Mitchell and Mobley provide all the talent we need tbh, we just need the right types of role players around them.

The problem is that guys don’t want to put in the type of work Miami forces you to. It’s very physically demanding. They lead the league in deflections and fouls drawn.

Young guys are understandably focused on protecting themselves for their big payday. Most athletes treat the game like a marathon. Miami is 110% sprinting every game.

The best NFL comparison is the Patriots. Bill MAKES you sacrifice your body. You won’t have a long career, but you will definitely win.

First round picks don’t want to play that style of ball in any sport. It’s way easier to get undrafted nobodies to commit to that.

Yeah you need to find the right guys.

It’s a little more complex than just finding hustle guys though.  Try hards are great, but 9/10 times they get run off the court by more skilled and talented players.  This is just that 1/10 imo.

You need talent and grit.  We have plenty of talent in our big 3, we just need role guys who understand what being a role player means.  Guys like Allen, Okoro, Wade, etc need to develop that level of hustle and toughness or they need to be moved imo.

It also takes the superstar buying in. It works in Miami because it’s Butler’s team and he’s arguably the hardest worker in the league.

To use the patriots comparison when Tom Brady buys into the hard coaching it’s hard for some rookie or new FA to not buy in.  When the best player and the head coach are preaching the same things that should become the culture of the team if the FO is doing their part.

Agreed 1000%

Miami would not be winning if you swapped him with say a Harden, Tatum, etc.
