I don't think the Raiders or Bears knew how to properly utilize him. That's on them. I think New England did know what they were doing, but didn't want to pay big bucks for a RB/WR hybrid. I know its revisionist history, but had we just moved him to RB, we could've utliized him along with AD, keeping both fresh (minus 2014), taking pressure off of our QBs and made our offenses very versatile. I knew they fumbled a few times, one right before the half and then once again to open the 3rd. Could they just not muster up enough offense to get it done?
