Same thing happened to the defense a few years ago.

yeah..during the killer B era

Munchack/haley were probably the highest paid coaches

Ben, AB and the line were the highest paid players

they need to find a balance in roster building...which starts in better drafting in the middle rounds

I don't think our offense will be his bad forever(I hope not)

but once we figure out how to build a good offense, the defense will need to be fix lol

another reason I like the Weidl hire. The eagles have been built up with blue chip young guys on both side of the ball.

It wasn't a reason not to fire Canada, rather just Sullivan is a great QBCoach, but his track record as an offensive play caller isn't the best so people expecting big changes through that change should temper expectations.

Personally, I think losing Sullivan as QB Coach wouldn't be great, but there's no other option to have call plays.  And I think even if you make Sullivan the interim OC, he wouldn't take a demotion after all of this.  Eddie Faulkner (RBs) was a OC for one year, and I don't think he would take a 'demotion' poorly.  So he might be someone worth looking at for it.

Personally, I don't view Sullivan as a possible future OC so the idea he might be bad is mute. It's just about setting accountability and removing someone we know isn't good from having their hands on the team.

I would move on from Sullivan at the end of the year, too. We need more new age offensive minds on this team. I am far more interesting in stealing ideas from around the league than I am with tinkering with Kenny on a day to day. Not that it's not important, but there is good evidence around the league about using brain power to maximize strengths and minimize weakness of QBs rather than change them significantly. We lack that brain power to pivot or shift from what we do.

Sullivan was also a recruiting coordinator for Army before coming back to the NFL. You need demand to refuse gigs. I am not sure he would have any.

The middle round failures are coming back to kill us…Mid rd RB picks 4 straight years…Green being a total whiff.

It be nice if even 2 of those worked out and wouldn’t have a hole going forward at say ILB and a boundry CB.

I’m not following this. If you would fire Sullivan than promoting him in interim is just as bad as keeping Canada around.

was Austin injury that bad? it looks like its gonna cost him the season. WTH

He’s been practicing the last three weeks. I think this is more about the Tomlin “jumping on a moving train” thing than actual health. They should activate and not dress him this next week. It would be fine for one week.

I mentioned moving on from Sullivan "at the end of the year". Not in conjunction with Canada's release.

Yep Yes GIF by State Farm

Again, if you would let go of Sullivan at the end of the year anyways it’s just as detrimental as keeping Canada around. I’m asking what’s the point then?

This blatantly complacent attitude is exactly why Tomlin needs to be canned, or at the very least, be roasting on the hot seat.

We should all know by now though that this is Tomlins MO of keeping dysfunctional crap under wraps. And he telegraphs himself so much. He was highly involved in the defense, then a whole bunch of changes happen and coaches change. He’s getting more involved in the offense, which means a change should be coming.
