I don't care how good Lamar might be I want nothing to do with him. He will NEVER play 17 games which means he will probably miss playoff games. Then you add the fact if you force him to throw the ball he is not that good at all. Then you add the fact his knee and his legs have some good miles on them. Then it will cost you several first round picks and 40 mill a year.

I have noticed a lot of people are putting Aaron Rodgers with the Jets. aaron said he still can be MVP of the league with the right team.

Well let’s see what happens with our decisions at qb. I would love Rodgers here for a few years. But the hate Lamar is getting is laughable when looking back at our qb situation over the years.

Lamar the player is fine, Lamar for picksssssss and that contract is not. Idk if the Jets are an organization who can recover from that should it back fire.

Ya all these guys coming up and stuff are from the generation that you got a trophy even for participating. They were babied and put on a pedestal by their parents, coaching staff and such.

I have 2 friends that are Head soccer coaches on LI and I love the philosophy they teach their kids (they're brothers). They tell their kids (from a young age in youth camps) to play as many sports as they can. Try out for everything. Not only does it make you a more well rounded athlete learning different sports. But it's also good for kids and teenagers to realize that they wont be great at everything. You might be a stud at football, but maybe a bench player that rarely plays for the basketball team. And that humbles kids from a young age.

I fully support this bc it was the way I did things growing up. Made me a very good athlete. And while I was good at soccer, baseball and football... I was barely good enough to make the team in basketball. I was just above average for hockey and lacrosse. I loved playing them all. I didn't just gravitate to what I was good at. As I got closer to college I wound up only playing the 2 sports I was good at, but that was for scholarship reasons so I wouldn't get hurt. But I was already humbled by knowing I wasn't going to be great at everything and was a well rounded athlete.

This also helped when I did go to college for sports to be ok with not starting right away and earning my spot. Some of these kids have never been benched in their life. So going to college and the NFL and being humbled can shock them.

This is also why I value bigger school players. A player from Bama for example that was a 5 star and a stud his whole life, likely didn't start as a true freshman or maybe even as a sophomore. He got that eye opening experience before going to the NFL. All while still playing NFL talent daily in practice and in games.

Yeah man I get you completely.

My son started school last year and we have a ‘sports day’ here in the UK where basically you do everything from running, throwing, jumping etc. And naturally you’d get the 1st, 2nd, 3rd medals etc. However to my horror that’s all been scrapped and they don’t do races or anything like that it’s all ‘participating’ style events. The problem with that is how babied these things have become. I’m only 33 so hardly like it was 50yrs ago when I was in school but just in one generation things have changed so much. I think we were the last of the old school era before social media etc.

As you know I turned pro at 18 and had a good go at it but sadly never reached the heights I wanted. I’m coaching my kids soccer team now which is cool and they are doing great. My son is our star player and I’m probably a little harder on him than the others because he’s got the talent that could result in ‘making it’ but the mentality part is what will separate them.

My six year old is currently in Manchester United and Liverpools pre academy. He’s doing really well and enjoying it which is all that matters for now. I know in a few years it will become extremely competitive so it’s good for him to be playing with/against the best from such an early age. Builds them different I feel if they are challenged early.

Well it didn’t look like it will happen now anyway. However I will stand by my belief that if we would have traded two 1sts and signed him to a multi year deal I’d feel better than trading a 2nd and 2024 mid rounder for Derek Carr and his $40m contract.

Time will tell I don’t care who’s right on this board just as long as we get it right at One Jets Drive. This has to be the right decision as both JD and Saleh are going to live and die by this decision.

There is not much for me to talk about now, we can't do much till we get a QB. It is just insane, after having four great shots of drafting a QB,  We had three picks in the top four overall picks in the draft and one high second round pick. How could any team be that screwed up? I didn't mean to say screwed up you know what I meant to say.

IF WE GET CARR OR JACKSON, either one would cost a fortune.in draft picks and cap space. One thing is for sure I do not want any part of Jackson or his agent mother. Right now we have a huge serious problem.

Lamar represents himself.  His mother is his manager.   Keep it straight.

The #Jets put in a request to speak to #BrownsCLEBrowns2022SeasonEmoji.png OL coach Bill Callahan for their offensive coordinator job recently, sources say, but Callahan signed an extension to remain in Cleveland. One of the best in the biz at that spot stays put.

CLE also has one of the best OLInes in the biz talent wise. So I get it. He’s older. Not sure he wants the challenge of building our OL. Probably doesn’t want to be an OC either.

Totally agree that getting the right OC and a good OL coach will help big time. I just don’t think Wilson is it for us at QB. And don’t think he deserves a starting gig based on his play in 2 seasons. So let that OC go pick his QB if possible. Very well might be a guy that thinks Wilson has it. Just hasn’t been coached right. Doubtful. But could be that.

Nah... Saleh and JD will find OC who will willingly work with Wilson.
