Consensus Mock Draft - Pick 26 Dallas Cowboys

Why not, let's give this a go with combine and the major free agency moves in the book. 

Rules:

There are two polls - your first choice will count as 2pts, your second as 1pt. If players have the same score after 24 hours, the pick will go to the player with the most first place votes.

I went Bresee/Kincaid. Bresee is the best player on the board still IMO, and Dallas could use more juice in the interior. Ferguson and Hendershot are fine, but they don't have the skillset that Kincaid has. This could also be where Johnston goes.

This would probably be between Emmanuel Forbes, Johnston, Hyatt, and Steve Avila.

Darnell Wright. O-line is getting old. The starting line up is set but paper thin. It is better to draft replacements too soon than too late.

Forbes and Avila.

Free agency and age set the tone at CB/OL. Lots of TE votes here. I’d be shocked to see them take one early.

Yeah the Cowboys have been nailing first round picks for about a decade now. Getting a bit of a cookie cutter response in the polls with Kincaid.

There’s no way they use a first round pick on a TE with a back injury who will be 24 years old by week 7 of his rookie year. 

If they wanted an offensive weapon in the 1st it would probably be 21 year old Quentin Johnston who played right here in the Dallas area. All of the offensive linemen from Avila, and JMS, to Harrison are also probably more likely than Kincaid.

I agree about TE. I’ve seen lots of “experts” mock TE also, but I don’t see the value.

 

They have a great track record in drafting OL in the first round, and if they love Avila, I’m all for it. He could possibly start the season, but if not, he should see significant playing time given the injury history of the OL, especially Tyron.

 

I’ll go with Johnston as my second choice.
