And lo and behold, teams get him moving and then create a mega lane to run through. Sometimes it's obvious, but I don't think it's as obvious to many than it can be in the old XFL camera angle. The Cowboys capitalized on Hood being on the line. The ILBs have had good moments of run defense, but the safeties have to end the run too many times. @MKnight82The issue primarily is the run defense. Pass rush from Kerrigan/Smith has not been enough this season, but the ILBs play their role there too. The play-action is defeating them because they never squashed the run. Teams are running for solid yardage day in day out. Independent of those struggles, Breeland and Norman haven't had their best seasons (injuries affecting play style?) and the other safety position is a disaster. The most unfortunate thing in all of this is Terrell McClain. If he's the run defender from the end position that he was signed to be - not surprising - we're talking about a different dynamic. Inexcusable to be paying $20 mil this season for a corner who’s ranked 45th. Pretty clear we miss Jon Allen and Ioannidis being healthy on our DL. Nicholson’s injury has killed us as well. Jesus you’ll take any chance you can to take a shot at Norman. How about instead you point out how your boy Brucey signed some crap Dlineman this offseason.
