If  ham keeps playing rui on jokic, denver going to figure it out, they kinda did and just pnr

It's not about figuring it out. Jokic is going to get his but putting Rui on Jokic takes away Jokic's ball handling at the top of the key and it allows AD to clean up the board and be a shot blocking disruptor. But this will only work for stretches as AD will still be the primary defender on Jokic and will need to find a way to be more effective in single coverage.

Bigger issue for Denver is goin to be preventing the Lakers guards to get to the lane. That just opens up the AD floater if Jokic helps off. They need to figure that out first and foremost. Murray can't just keep switching out on Bron and they may need to start trapping and doubling on those screens and give someone like Rui or Schroder the wide open three. It is a make or miss league and the Lakers are essentially relying on that by leaving Green/Gordon/Braun wide open themselves.

Feeling really confident in the Lakers going into game 2. The Rui on Jokic matchup will work in spurts. Can't have that the whole game, because Jokic will figure it out. Just have to keep different looks on Jokic and make it as tough as possible. That dude is amazing.

Nice to finally get a game 1 off of Lakers. Scary how it was even close despite Nuggets hitting everything from deep. AD playing off Jokic and leaving Gordon so he can protect paint will force us to sit Gordon at this rate cause can’t just have AD roaming.

Lakers kinda hit everything too. Nuggets defense needs to tighten up but I think both teams and fanbases probably can leave that game feeling good about g2

Yep, the Lakers hit damn near everything in the 2nd half. Game 2 is going to be more of a defensive grind, similar to Nuggets/Suns game 2.
