Wasn't York hyped up as the Next Big Thing?

His raw talent isn’t in question. His 58 yard game winner Week 1 last year would have been good from over 70.

He just has zero consistency, gets kicks blocked by kicking them too low, misses too many gimme’s, etc.

I think he could stick on a bad team that’s patient with developing a kicker who missed and he could revamp his career elsewhere, but he single handedly cost them 3 games last year and 2 preseason games this year.

Yup. And when he misses, it's never even close. They're almost always extremely wide misses.

Talent is definitely there, I think it's just a mental thing for him at this point.

The kicker position is so fickle. You could flame out at your first spot but become an all pro at your next spot like Daniel Carlson. Or you could just flame completely out the league like Roberto Aguayo.

We’ll see which one York falls under.

Kickers are like closers, so temperamental. Just keep cycling through till you find one that is decent and ride him until he isn't.
