Browns release K Cade York; Trade for K Dustin Hopkins

WAY past due. He cost us 3 games last year and already 2 preseason games. He can kick it 70 yards but has no idea where it’s going and it’s blocked a lot when he does too.

Had to be done. I won't be surprised if York plays well on another team, but we couldn't risk him losing us games like he did last year and with how he's looked this preseason. Sucks, but we had to find a new kicker.

He's fine. He kicked in Washington for years. Typical NFL vet kicker, tbh.

As long as he’s completely recovered from his injury, he should be very good at anything less than 50 yards.

The kicker position is so fickle. You could flame out at your first spot but become an all pro at your next spot like Daniel Carlson. Or you could just flame completely out the league like Roberto Aguayo.

 We’ll see which one York falls under.
