Nor that Moore is wildly better than Mooney or Scott at getting open. Mooney is still below average for separation on that chart...shows Tyler Scott gets more separation... The only guy in that WR room who is a proper starting talent in DJ.

This is a guy with a 1000 yard season. He's not great, but he's not a scrub.

Regardless of who he is below he did next to nothing for us this season and had more big drops than receptions.

Separation may be similar but our boys drop the ball...A LOT.

Only been given 19 for the season, which is the 3rd lowest in the league. https://sports.betmgm.com/en/blog/nfl/nfl-teams-with-most-dropped-passes-this-season-bm10/ https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/advanced.htm Even the drop percentage is 5th best in the league. Granted Fields throwing so many quick hits (screens, flats, etc) and simply throwing a higher percentage of uncatchable balls skews (8th highest percent of bad throws and only 27th for on-target throw percent) this even further out of Fields' favor. WR corps isn't much after Moore but Fields just isn't a good passer. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/passing_advanced.htm

Fields to DJ... 107 targets with 76 receptions - 71% completion 1153 yards - 15.2 YPR 8 TDs Fields to Cole... 65 targets with 52 receptions - 80% completion 540 yards - 10.38 TPR 4 TDs So is Fields not a good passer or are those two guys the only two who are good enough to start in the NFL? Because again the likes of a beat up Mooney, Scott, Velus, EQ & Tonyan aren't it.

TEs and RBs are often pretty easy to skew on completion percentage due to how quick and easy their receptions often are. Kmet has an average yards before catch depth of under 6 yards and average depth of only 6.2 yards. Bagent should be able to make a 70% connection to Kmet (and he did too). And Moores numbers were good even with Walker, Darnold, Mayfield, Newton's corpse, and Bridgewater throwing to him. It's not surprising he did well and of course compared to those guys he is going to look good as a passer. Fields can be a hell of a weapon, but that is determined largely due to his legs. He isn't a good passer. If he becomes an average starting passer consistently then he will be pretty tough. But he just isnt.

All of that is irrelevant man...the stats provided are purely Fields to DJ/Cole... It simply can't be said he isn't a good passer when he has shown that throwing to proper talent he is...he showed it in college...he has shown it here...the problem is we have nothing else around him and had an idiot at OC. dll2000
On 33rd Man podcast with St. Brown bros and DJ they were joking around with DJ and Amon said, (paraphrasing) “what is with Fields? When he throws to you he is accurate. When he throws to Mooney he isn’t.” I tried quick to go back and find it, but I couldn’t. It’s somewhere in here. dll2000
Interesting thing I took from that interview is that DJ doesn’t watch football.
