Seems relevant. The rest of the conference is urging the commissioner to take action against Michigan. Makes sense, I just don’t know what that action would be exactly. The cat is already out of the bag with them having everyone’s stuff.

It’s a bit of a Hail Mary by the coaches, but they aren’t wrong in that an unprecedented situation warrants unprecedented heavy hands/response. The facts are, the B1G has the power to step in and levy punishment separately from the NCAA. There’s enough evidence to warrant something here with even a caveat that they’ll conduct their own investigation and levy their own punishment again at a later date parallel to the NCAA investigation that won’t conclude for some time.

Not sure what will happen here. The damage is done past and present, perhaps even future the rest of this season if UM actually hacked into databases and stole practice footage and plans, so we’ll see what happens here and comes of it.

You can't punish Michigan on news reports. The league has pretty much admitted it, so if Michigan won't cooperate (and they won't), you have to let them play like normal while the hammer comes down.

To me, that means the answer is to pay whatever it takes to get a suitable helmet with a mic in it ASAP and let coaches call plays using the mic for the rest of the season as an interim measure. Saban said it right away and he's correct, eliminate the signs and you eliminate the sign stealing circus.

Yeah I think that’s probably the most fair thing to do. You at least have to allow future opponents a way to combat the advantage UM has created as the 1-2 year investigation takes place.

They could always you know, change there signs. Like OSU already admitted to doing last year. Still got there arse kicked.  The “Don’t tackle Edwards sign” really worked well.  The computer hacking is non sense that hasn’t been backed by anything.  The entire rumor actually started because Day hired a PI firm to investigate Michigan and that’s how the WaPo got the database info ( ridiculous units own right to anyone who knows how vast a university server goes “ Michigan coaches had access to” is not the same as accessed. Intentionally worded to deceive.) OSU was the ones being accused of hacking not Michigan.

Im not pretending nothing happened and there should be no punishments but right now the only rule that may have actually been broken is if that really is Stallions on the CMU sideline. That would be in person scouting. A Baylor coach did the same thing and got suspended half a game. This guys clearly a nut job and the evidence shows it’s most likely he was a lone wolf not acting on the advice of coaches or that they knew.

Sign stealing is aloud. Buying 3rd party scouting film is allowed by the ncaa per rules. Stallions took it a step further and paid them to go do it but thats technically not against any rules.  It has already been reported that just about every big10 team has a sign stealing guy and they all network with each other bartering for each other’s intel.  Thamel clearly has an agenda , this story has gotten more coverage than things that actually matter like covering up gang rape, fbi investigations, covering for a habitual wife beater, athletes never going to class, buying entire rosters before it was legal.

This article is trash and extremely unethical according to the AP’s own ethics and standards rules. Anonymous sources is fine for real life story’s that matter.  Allowing a bunch of whinny coaches who are to yellow to stand behind there words to smear Michigan under Thamels anonymous sources is unethical reporting and cowardly.  Outside of Stoops the majority of coaches who have spoken publicly have said this isn’t that big a deal and advantage is minimal so Thanel has to counter with this garbage.

If the Big10 tries to do anything without allowing due process then Michigan could very likely leave the conference.

This entire issue is about born on 3rd base Ryan Day throwing a tantrum and doing everything he can to save his job and provide an excuse when he gets his butt kicked by Michigan for a 3rd  straight season.

I found the Conor Stalions account or maybe a friend who helped him work on the Michigan Manifesto

Care for an actual rebuttal? Can you dispute anything I wrote? Got anything ?

Your only getting and accepting the side of the story Thamel and Day want you to get because they know UM can’t comment on an active investigation. UM hasn’t even been given a notice of allegations yet. If/ when they were to get that notice they get a mandatory 90 days to respond before the ncaa can do anything.  If the Big10 was stupid enough to enforce a punishment without doing there own investigation (which they haven’t even started) based on media reporting and coaches complaining Michigan could sue there pants off and then take there billion dollar money maker to another conference.

No, people are accepting one side of the story b/c one has a lot of data and evidence to support it and the other stole all the tin foil from Wal-Mart
