🏈 Pick #77 is in! Raiders select T, Delmar Glaze, Maryland

Recommended Posts

Overview

Swing tackle prospect with some promising NFL traits but tape that comes up lacking against some of the better competition he faced. Glaze has started at both tackle spots but is inconsistent with his pass sets and change of direction. Rushers with speed can beat him to the top of the rush and cross his face for easy inside access once he starts oversetting. He has good hand strength and should improve in protection if he can use more direct, inside hands in his punch. He’s fairly fluid in space and fits the criteria of an inside/outside zone blocker with lead-pull potential. A move to guard might give him the best chance to become an NFL starter in the future.

Strengths

  • Wingspan covers nearly seven feet.
  • Strong hands allow him to stall out rusher when he sinks them in.
  • Works hand resets and unhinges lower half to find anchor.
  • Holds his post and works to drive vertically on double-teams.
  • Decent lateral quickness and can work up on combo blocks.
  • Continues working feet around the reach block to seal off the lane.

Weaknesses

  • Beaten frequently by inside moves due to chronic over-setting.
  • Will struggle to cut off edge speed at the top of the rush.
  • Lacks ideal core strength to neutralize opponents as a base blocker.
  • Lacks aggression into contact at times.

Our new Brandon Parker? Lol but F it, maybe a reach, maybe they think some untapped potential. Don’t know much about him but we need the depth so let him compete with Munford and worst case let him develop in the meantime.. at least he’s got experience on both sides so potential to be a swing tackle from the jump in year 1.. if Munford doesn’t get it done then perhaps he’s a starter in year 2 or takes over for Kolton in a couple years
