vike daddy
Reichard: "Making every single field goal is always the goal and always what you're looking for. It's always what you're striving to be. But we don't live in a perfect world. We're not robots. And so sometimes there are errors. Inevitably, that happens. I mean, you look at the greatest kicker, whoever you want to say it is, and nobody's making every single field goal. So whenever that does happen, you just have to look at the tape, see what you can improve on, see what happened to move on from there." Matt Daniels: "It's all mental at the end of the day and between the ears when you're talking about the specialists. It's having that confidence. Are you able to respond when things aren't going your way? Are you able to self-correct, and get back on track? Will always has it, he knows who he is. He knows how he operates." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40835091/vikings-rookie-kicker-reichard-blocked-sixth-round

Reichard began with an extra point (33 yards) and followed with kicks from 43, 46, 51, 48 and 47. All were no-doubters. viking.com
vike daddy
Kevin Seifert@SeifertESPN If I have my numbers right, rookie PK Will Reichard is: 23-25 during team drills in training camp 3-4 in preseason (1 block)

He has been complete money so far. I'm honestly not sure why people complained when we took him in the 6th round considering most 6th rounders flame out of the league and contribute nothing.

SemperFeist
At this rate he’s going to miss his first kick of the season. Wide left. It’s inevitable.

The record for field goals made in a single season is 35, set by Gary Anderson in 1998 and matched by...sixth-round rookie Blair Walsh in 2012 (and those were in 16-game seasons). To get to 36 makes, Reichard just has to make around 2.1 field goals per game across 17 contests. He should get plenty of kicking opportunities on an offense that projects as a decent one if Darnold plays well." "I'm also going to say Reichard breaks the record for the longest field goal in franchise history, which was set by Greg Joseph with his 61-yard game-winner against the Giants on Christmas Eve 2022. Based on what I've seen on the practice field, I think O'Connell will trust Reichard enough to give him at least an opportunity or two from 62 or beyond this season, most likely at the end of a half or game." https://www.si.com/nfl/vikings/news/from-jones-to-darnold-4-bold-predictions-for-the-minnesota-vikings-2024-season-01j5v1enyzt7

I love kickers. kickers are getting moved around a lot the last few days... The Browns traded Cade York to the Commanders on Thursday and they added another kicker to the roster on Friday. The team announced the signing of Lucas Havrisik ahead of their final preseason game of the summer.
