vike daddy
Moreau, the 6’0,” 200-pound journeyman corner will now vie for a 53-man roster spot in September, and based on his experience, might have the inside track to dethrone a roster bubble player like Andrew Booth or Duke Shelley. This is Minnesota’s current CB group: Byron Murphy Shaquill Griffin (Injured) Mekhi Blackmon (Injured) Akayleb Evans Fabian Moreau Andrew Booth Duke Shelley Bobby McCain NaJee Thompson Jaylin Williams A.J. Green III Dwight McGlothern Jacobi Francis Moreau, 30, has experience on the outside and in the slot. He’ll probably receive action in the slot as a member of the Vikings. https://vikingsterritory.com/2024/news/top_news/vikings-sign-battle-tested-cornerback Edited July 30 by vike daddy
VikeManDan
Given the news of how well JJ appears to be doing this early in training camp I wonder if they'll keep 2 QBs and use that extra roster spot elsewhere. Cutting Mullens incurs $375k in dead money and frees up $1.85M in cap space per OTC. I imagine Hall could be snuck onto the PS for another season and compete for the backup spot in 2025?
vikesfan89
Does Mullins have any trade value? It's so early but it does seem like McCarthy has improved enough that they could be comfortable with him as the backup. Or maybe they could keep Mullins until a team becomes desperate with a couple injuries

Conditions were Mullens had to be active in one game during the 2022 season. If they're confident in JJ manning the backup spot, which it sounds like they will be in a months time, I'd gladly take a 6th or 7th for Mullens given we only have 3 (?) draft picks in 2025.
SemperFeist
I’d gladly roll with McCarthy and Darnold as the only QBs on the active roster. There would be zero concern from me that Hall, or even Mullens wouldn’t be able to be put on the practice squad. The only way keeping 3 QBs makes sense is if the coaching staff is hell bent on redshirting McCarthy.

Even if we do receive a 3rd round comp pick, getting more capital should be something the team considers. The way I see it, a 7th gives us a "guaranteed UDFA" that we might have coveted. Also, I read your post initially as "JJ Manning" lol Edited August 2 by SteelKing728
