Joe Douglas offered a multi-year deal, Reddick declined. They felt comfortable with what he was saying that they could come to an agreement. Reddick then went AWOL and just ignored his agency and everyone. Lets stop pretending like this is a normal situation and this should have been predicted. This is not a normal situation and only Reddick knows what he wants. Obviously an agency dumping you means they don't agree with what you are doing, the Jets had an agreement with the agency to pay Reddick huge money this season and he still declined. Why would the Jets at this point want this guy on their team long term? He'll be 31 after the season and most likely his best football is behind him.

The deal JD offered didn't meet Reddick's demand. Not even close. I suspected.

His agency didn't honor Reddick's wish and that led Jets to not making new offer during the summer.  Subsequently, he fired his agency.   Right or wrong  I don't know but it is the mucked up situation.

What about the report of the Jets offering him a 1-year deal which was going to pay him much more than he wanted, and he still declined it?

He's going to be a Commander. Just a guy feeling. It makes since now.

Allen is out for season. Newton steps in.

Secondary is atrocious.

Reddick has had DBL digit sacks for multiple seasons.

Quinn needs his version of Micah Parsons, to hide the secondary's deficiency's.

This would give that front 7 some juice, to put pressure on QB's.

Turnovers are the staple to a Quinn Defense. They have not got that from the defense, the way he likes.

This move makes complete since to me.

(Btw...I would rather go after an excellent WR like Tee Higgins to pair with Scary Terry)

But I understand this move, however.

Hassan Reddick will be a Commander before the Panthers game, Sunday.

Making sure you saw this. That’s a high price for the jets to pay

Interesting....

So if hypothetically?

The Jets traded Hassan Reddick to Washington?

Then the Jets would have to send their 2026 2nd Rd draft pick to the Eagles?

The draft after next? Cause we will be coming up on the 2025 draft next April.

Interesting...

That makes the compensation for a Reddick trade, very interesting.

Not to mention Reddick wants a new deal.

Well, Washington can do it, if they want him.

They got the picks & the cap.

It comes down to, do they feel they need to make this move to contend for a Division & Playoffs.

We've seen their Defense.

I think you have to make this move, personally.

Specially losing Allen for the year.

Maybe his pass rushing ability, will mask a poor secondary.

Rookie 2nd Rd pick Johnny Newton will replace J. Allen. He's that 1st Rd stud that fell to us in the 2nd Rd, pick #36.
