The 49ers made the non-football injury designation this afternoon, about 48 hours after Pearsall was shot. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/ricky-pearsall-out-at-least-four-games-on-non-football-injury-list That’s not bad at all, gives him time to heal up and doctors to determine next steps, if any. Pearsall is seriously lucky.

vegas492
Dang. Just seeing this. Can't believe that he was shot in the chest and appears to have recovered nicely. Someone was looking out for him.
vike daddy
49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall will miss at least four games because of injuries sustained in a shooting on Saturday, but he is doing well enough that he has already gone back to work at the team facility. Tim Ryan, the 49ers’ radio analyst, said on KNBR that he saw Pearsall in the 49ers’ weight room, and that Pearsall talked to Ryan and some others on the team about the experience he had been through. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/ricky-pearsall-is-back-at-work-in-the-49ers-facility

nagahide13
I wonder if they even would have put him on NFI if he had been healthy all camp. Probably. With minimal research it seems as though the minimum physical healing time for a gunshot fleshwound is about 4-5 weeks, so it would line up in terms of healing. I'm really interested to hear the extent of the actual injuries. It currently seems like Pearsall got about as lucky as it's possible to be while also being shot. Now he gets to be introduced to "many men" in his first game. It's tradition.
