They both suck in space.  I probably have better instincts in coverage than Quay.  Barry seems oblivious to this.

he had 7 PD last season, this season just 3, why the decline? is it player or scheme related, everyone sucks in space this year in Barry's defensive schemes

obviously no lber is a match for Goodson, our problem is we don't have a safety to match up on him either.

Guessing all of those were in the first few weeks of this year. He's missed a few games and doesn't seem the same. Early, he looked like he was taking a real big second year leap.

Just don't think he's healthy.

For a smart person, these are not your finest takes.

Chargers had 4 games left, no shot at the playoffs, why didn't they just ride it out with Staley? Your overexertion trying to defend an indefensible point is laughable.

Guys watched that film and realized they were put in positions to fail, over and over. Guys probably watched that and said, **** it, why bother. I'd be finding a way to miss a game or the rest of them if I'm a free agent next year.

There are guys on our defense playing for a paycheck next season. They need some good film so teams might give them a deal. You're telling them to ride it out, continue to be put in terrible situations and made look like you are clueless.

The is no excuse, ZERO, for keeping Barry around.

Barry isn't the bandaid that you want it to be, and just ripping it off fixes it all. Campbell played like **** in normal everyday ILB terms, using Barry is a crutch.

You're acting like Barry's playcalls are "give up 50 yards here guys." It's clueless. It's defensive football, it's like 1/4 the complexity of offense, figure your **** out and be where you need to be and make some plays. They have gotten entirely lax from Barry's personality, but that isn't changing in a 3 week span.

If the defense flat out goes out and doesn't play ball Sunday, then you have to fire Barry (like LAC did). Chargers weren't even pursuing on defense, it was like the Pro Bowl out there. That wasn't the TB game for us. That was soft coverage and countless errors. Bad news for you, those don't go away with a new DC until they're coached out of them. It should be quite worrisome for you that vets like Owens, Ford, Nixon, Campbell are out there making mental mistakes on simple zone coverages you "install" for the first time in HS.

You just continue to be angry at a sole source. Watch some tape, be angry at Campbell, as I said earlier, regardless of coach Campbell was miserable out there. Walker wasn't much better, DBs made enough mental mistakes to last a season in a single game. It's chicken **** to me that you get to do a terrible job at work and then blame someone else and everyone is OK with it.

but, but, who could call the plays.  you know the masterful defensive calls that have been on display for the majority of the season.

I'am thinking the H20 specialist could fill for 3 games lol.

Good point, didn't he have a shoulder injury? still think he was the better option of the two

Talking about LB's that should be high level in coverage is a lot like talking about an elite blocking and receiving TE or a NT who's a force rushing the passer. There's like 5 of them in the league at a time. Warner and Roquan are the only two I feel great about in coverage right now. In their prime, Kendricks was elite, Bobby Wagner, Lavonte David. To be able to have the strength and body build to take on an IOL and then guard a RB/slot in space on routes is a special dude. We just need to get Walker to average and try to limit the amount of times any ILB is 1-1 with a back or slot.

This is a very myopic view of what seems to be going on in the locker room right now.

One tweet and you know what's going on in the locker room? lol.

Did you see the comments from the actual plyers in the locker room the media was posting yesterday? Valentine, Quay, Stokes, all seem like they're going to continue to be professional football players for 3 weeks.

Huh? They've gotten banged up but Watson is the only one who hasn't stayed on the field?

Reed, Heath and Wicks are all dinged up plus Musgrave is on IR.  Yes, they have played but my thoughts are based on those guys not being full speed and at full health.

I might agree with you if the history of GB's defensive players chirping about this staff was only one tweet.

The players in the locker room?  What else are they gonna say?  It wouldn't be wise to diss your bosses to the media.  Campbell posted his discontent so I'm gonna guess he isn't alone but the others are not going to post anything for the same reason they won't to the press in front of their lockers either.

I guess it's too bad the trade deadline has past, or GB could maybe ship out the latest defensive player speaking out.

Campbell can find the bench.  Cap implications of cutting him next year?

The kind of thinking his words show is poison for young players. Good riddance.
