vike daddy
Robert Tonyan left Thursday’s practice on a cart and head coach Kevin O’Connell provided an update on his condition on Friday. O’Connell: “I know he was carted off, it was a back spasm-type issue. He’s going to be working through a lower back thing. We hope to get him back soon. He’ll be out today, we’ll see how that goes in the next few days, how he kind of turns over. We want to give him — Especially with the preseason games in the not too distant future, we want to make sure we get him to a good place so he can take part in those.” https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/robert-tonyan-out-with-back-injury-vikings-hope-hes-back-for-preseason-games
vike daddy
The Vikings replaced the turf in U.S. Bank Stadium, as well as TCO Stadium and in Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center's Indoor Practice Facility. Players already have spent some time on the new surface during the offseason program when weather moved sessions inside. The new surface is Act Global Xtreme Turf DX. It looks a little different in person and probably will on your screens. vikings.com

[the new stadium turf] Last season, the Vikings’ home field was one of only three in the NFL with slit film turf, which the NFL Players Association has said causes more injuries than other types of artificial turf. This offseason, the Vikings changed to a monofilament surface. So far the Vikings haven’t played or practiced on the new playing surface, but the team’s kickers did get to work at U.S. Bank Stadium on Wednesday, and Vikings special teams coordinator Matt Daniels said the kickers consider the new turf an improvement. ”It’s definitely a lot more bouncy, a lot more springy,” Daniels said, via the Star-Tribune. “It definitely has more grip to it, which is encouraging. They felt good about their plants, they felt good about their steps from a punting and kicking standpoint. I think it’s a good change.” https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/vikings-kickers-say-new-turf-at-u-s-bank-stadium-is-an-improvement

swede700
I'm not sure there's a player out there that likes any form of turf.

vikesfan89
Booth doesn't seem to be Zimmers type of CB. It's strange trade with 2 players of the same position. Are they both draft busts looking for a change of scenery?
vike daddy
Stephon Gilmore’s bid to find a place to play in 2024 is taking him to Minnesota. Certainly looked like he did last year for Dallas. Obviously not his shutdown self anymore, but still seems like a starting CB in this league. Was hoping he’d join NE, myself. I think he’d fit best in a team with at least one established cornerback, to keep him out of major CB1 duties and let him play to his remaining strengths.
