BILLS   CHIEFS
2021 4th for WR MARQUON BARNES [79]

I'm sad to see Marquon go, but the Chiefs offered this, and Marquon and Stanley would be fighing for WR4. I need to get under the roster limie, and pick up a mid round pick.

I feel pretty okay about where my roster is at. I think I should challenge for the division again, but I'm not confident I've improved enough to make a run in the playoffs. The offense should be good, and the secondary is pretty stacked. But the front 7 is just brutal. Depending on how this upcoming draft looks, I could be switching to a 4-3. I have the edge rushers, and I have 2 off ball backers who can transition, and Lapierre is an 82 DT, so really I would need one more DT and a LB. If I stay 3-4, I just need 2 more interior guys, which are harder to find and develop.

WR ANDRE QUIN 4 CTH 59 YDS
DE JULLIAM JEANPIERRE SAK FF FR
FS JAMAR KUGBILA FF FR
DE MUSTAFA HAWKINS 6 TAK 2 SAK

Now that is a hell of a week 1. Rookies Jacquet, Jeanpierre and Kugbila all get involved. Somehow everyone on my crap DL did something. The Dolphins shouldn't be very good this year

WEEK 2

WR NATHAN PROCTER 8 CTH 85 YDS
WR ANDRE QUIN 5 CTH 74 YDS
LB LARONE DUBOSE 15 TAK

This game... not so much. Chargers dominated at every level. I have a feeling that these WRs are going to completely cannibalize eachother's award chances.

Next up, the Patriots with Drew Brees.

I have elected to not extend an offer to SS Rodriguez Logan. I have Cam Cone as a 3rd safety with 2 more years on his deal, and he is a better safety than Logan anyway. I will collect my theoretical comp pick for him

WEEK 3
BILLS 2-1 PATRIOTS 1-2
38 SCORE 10
441 YARDS GAINED 179
208 RUSH YARDS 29
233 PASS YARDS 150
23 FIRST DOWNS 6
2 TURNOVERS 2
Individual Performances
QB ROY LEHMAN 225 YDS 2TD 2INT 73.7 QBR
HB JERMARCUS NEAL 17 CAR 92 YDS
WR NATHAN PROCTER 8 CTH 84 YDS
WR ANDRE QUIN 4 CTH 62 YDS
TE ISSAIAH POUNCEY 4 CTH 39 YDS 3TD

So nevermind on the Drew Brees front - he is injured. We shut Jake Rudock down, predictably, but there were not real stats on defense. Issaiah Pouncey (remember him) caught 4 catches for 3 TDs, one of which was from backup QB Stapleton on a fake FG. Much better start to the year than last year, where we were 0-5.

  • We will not be offering a contract to DT Jovanta Durham
  • We are currently in negotiations with CB Brenden Pathon to keep him in Toronto

WEEK 4
RAIDERS 3-1 BILLS 2-2
34 SCORE 31
380 YARDS GAINED 427
120 RUSH YARDS 108
260 PASS YARDS 309
21 FIRST DOWNS 20

WR ANDRE QUIN 5 CTH 56 YDS TD
TE ISSAIAH POUNCEY 4 CTH 39 YDS 3TD
OLB LESTER MURPHY 1.5 SAK

The Raiders are 3-1, but I expected to win this. Another good game from Lehman and a rookie WR, but the defense can't stop them

Neal needs more touches.

He's averaging like 16 a game so far. I'm running a balanced offense so I can't really help it.

I'm off to my parents for Easter, so I won't be posting for a couple days. I may or may not do some during the week next week cause I'm into this, but it may not be updated until next weekend.

Thanks to everyone who's following and offering input. If you have any suggestions or questions let me know

I think Carrington Graham has been your best draft pick.

I won't argue with you there. I already have plans of likely letting Beck hit free agency and keeping Carrington and shredrick.

I love having 2 good corners, and I'll allocate almost all of my salary cap for the secondary there, which means I usually run through safeties later in leagues.

I'm still waiting for that star pass rusher though. I've scouted a handful of guys thus year so far, and this class is looking really stacked, particularly at 3-4 end and DTs

Explain?

You'll usually see only like the top 5 picks in the 78+ range and then everyone else drops off. Most people after the first round are usually less than 75, but yet you're getting players in the 80's in the 3rd and 4th round.

Gotcha. I would say that 20 1st round players are 78+. Then getting players in the later rounds that are good is just scouting and knowing what to look for. If you're playing a multiple user franchise they get split up, but when it's just me I can get most of who I want. Either way I need them since this was a cupcake

I would say it's actually pretty realistic that there are a handful of mid round guys who are very good but madden just does a really poor job of hiding them. By giving you the top 3 skills for Nathan Procter for example and then the combine skills, it was obvious he would be a good player. Madden said his skill level was early 3rd though which makes no sense.
