Forge Posted August 7, 2017 Share Posted August 7, 2017 I feel like the idea of extending Alonso a qualifying offer would have been the better path. I mean, if he accepts it, okay, maybe he replicates this season and you move him next year, or maybe he doesn't...but you're not missing much if it only cost you Boog Powell. If he bypasses the QO, and somebody signs him, you get the pick...and I kind of feel like I'd rather have the pick, but maybe that's just me.
