I see where your coming from but at the same time Porter, Sato, Oubre, Parker, and Portis weren’t consistent. And at times overhyped bc they had a good game here and there.

our bench this year has played surprisingly well. Especially Wagner, and Bertans

Let's be clear here, we are talking about whether the team is overall better. Not if, they have better stretch 4’s coming off the bench.

Again, Bertans & Wagner make our bench better bc they are good stretch 4s and big shooters coming off our bench.

For anyone to suggest that the team now is better than a healthy team last year - and I know they weren't healthy for most of last year - is absolutely completely off base.

Last years team, if healthy - before Wall’s injury and before they traded Porter away - was a definite playoff team and could have possibly won a playoff series again like they did in 2016-2017.

The problem in 2017 & 2018 was they were stuck w/ Porter’s contract - on top of obviously Beal and Wall’s - and injures, so there was no way they were ever going to be a team that could consistently win over 50 games with Wall, Beal & Porter as their big 3.

Because they traded Porter and bc of Wall’s injury they now have Rui - who looks like a Porter type player with more size and aggressiveness on offense - they’ll likely have a top 5 pick in next years draft and they've improved their bench for the future too through good trades last summer which all looks to equate to a more promising future then what we had with the 2018 roster.

While I respect your thoughts I gotta say that the only thing that last seasons team was better at then this years was Defense. and even last year they played abysmal D.

They are number 1 in scoring this year. defenseand experience  is the only thing holding them back, I dont know how they can improve on D but this is a super young team and its refreshing to see that these guys are showing they can play and developing at a young age. want to see more from Brown but im impressd with the youngsters so far.

how many years is davis bertans signed for? im hoping more than 1. would like to see him stick around. best 3 ball we have had since bojan

You’re talking about the team with a healthy Wall & Porter?

No way this years team is better. They’re not going to get better on defense bc they don’t have good defenders. IT and Ish are awful defenders at the PG position - much worse than Wall - Bertans & Wagner aren’t good defenders and Hachimura and Brown have a long way to go in that category too.

If Wall, Beal, Porter, Morris and Bryant played IT/Ish, Beal, Brown, Rui and Bryant, I think it’s clear the team with Wall and Porter would win.

I definitely like watching the young guys and love their potential for the future, that I agree with.

Bertans is a FA after this year. I hope they can re-sign him, I’d love to see him get to play with an elite PG like Wall.

I’d like to get another swing man like Edwards from Georgia. He’s 6’5, 225. He can back up Beal, play SF too, he shoots the 3 well. He can compete with Brown to be the starting SF and with Schofield to be the back up SF next year should Brown keep the job.

Where does their 114.6 defensive efficiency rank relative to history?

https://stats.nba.com/teams/defense/

1996-97: San Antonio = 110.8
1997-98: Denver = 110.6
1998-99: Denver = 108.6
1999-00: LA Clippers = 108.0
2000-01: Washington = 106.2
2001-02: Golden State = 107.1
2002-03: Golden State = 107.7
2003-04: Orlando = 108.8
2004-05: LA Lakers = 109.6
2005-06: Seattle = 112.7
2006-07: Memphis = 110.9
2007-08: Milwaukee = 111.1
2008-09: Sacramento = 113.4
2009-10: Toronto = 112.2
2010-11: Toronto = 111.7
2011-12: Charlotte = 109.4
2012-13: Charlotte = 110.3
2013-14: Milwaukee = 110.2
2014-15: Minnesota = 110.9
2015-16: LA Lakers = 110.3
2016-17: LA Lakers = 112.0
2017-18: Phoenix = 111.7
2018-19: Cleveland = 116.8 (Phoenix 2nd at 114.2)

So, while it's an early sample size, they're currently third worst since 1996 (only 2018-19 Cavs and 2019-20 Warriors are worse).

Yeah, I don't know if they have one player on their roster who actually wants to play defense. I guess Mahinmi, but he doesn't play & wouldn't make a difference anyways.

Big win for the Wiz vs the Suns after a 117-104 loss vs the Nuggets last night. Last night Vs the Nuggests, the Wiz were an awful 10-40 from 3 which is why they lost the game.

Tonight, the Wiz were on fire from behind the arch!

A 140-132 win, 32 assists, almost as many assists as rebounds w/ 38.

Beal: 35 pts (11-18, 4-6 from 3) 6 asts

Bryant: 23 pts, (9-11, 2-2 from 3) 5 asts, 9 rebs

I. Smith: 21 pts (8-11, 2-3 from 3) 7 asts, 4 rebs

Bertans: 16 pts, (4-8 from 3) 3 asts, 4 rebs

IT: 12 pts, (2-6 from 3) 3 rebs, 5 asts

McRae: 11 pts (3-6 from 3) 3 asts

Wagner: 11 pts (1-2 from 3) 3 asts, 4 rebs

Troy Brown & Rui didn’t score much, but they played good D. Rui had only 6 pts, but 6 rebs and was a plus 6. Brown was a plus 9 despite only having 5 pts and he did knock down his only 3 pt attempt of the game which, is a positive for Brown’s development.
