All avenues MOCK

Been working on this one for a while.  Likely will be the only effort of a mock for me this year.  I am thinking the new GM Brian Gutekunst will be moving around a good deal in the draft with 12 picks at his disposal.  I tried to work a few trades in for the early rounds and would not be at all surprised in more happen in the later rounds.  I do feel that GB will make around 10+ draft picks as there may be some decent turnover on the roster.

Did not look at additional free agents prior to the draft, do feel that some will happen in the few weeks after the draft, veteran depth and some player cuts that may happen as teams acquire rookies that might allow them to move on from some veteran players.

Lets get to it......

1.14  -- GB trades pick 1.14 and 5.138 with LAC for pick 1.17 and pick 5.155 and WR Tyrell Williams       @Cadmus!!!!!!

Williams adds a much needed outside WR.  There is a lot to like about this physical profile and would flourish in GB with Rodgers

Draft should add some added competition at several positions and allow some versatility where needed.

Fire away!!!!

Sorry @NormSizedMidget no punters....I think Vogel is a keeper after year 1.

Awesome mock. Its interesting to see your trade with the Chargers cause after I saw Cadmus post about him, that's exactly what I was thinking:

GB could move back a little and still get Landry, while securing T Williams.

Landry/Oliver/Williams - that's a nice haul

It' is probably a pipe dream, but that is what mocks are somewhat for.

I was talking to @JBURGE25 about a hypothetical trade for Williams.

I'd be fine with sending Montgomery to LA ... because they have (arguably) the the worst RB depth in the NFL.

I mean they have Ekeler, but he's tiny.

Yeah,  I have the feeling Thomas will go sooner than that. He seems like he belongs with the top tier of TEs, but that doesn't mean that teams could think differently. After all, TEs take years to develop and seem like they're really hit or miss.

I like the idea of trading back and getting Landry. Sitting at 14, I feel like we're far enough down that no one great will fall to us, but we are sitting near the top of the second tier of guys. Trading down 3-4 spots should keep us well placed in the second tier. Netting Williams would be icing on the cake. He's 26, so he'd offer immediate returns. I'd be shocked if they wanted to trade him though.

Tyrell Williams. You think that's enough compensation though? Are they trading up to draft a QB?

Also, I was talking to  @JBURGE25 about Watson 2-3 weeks ago. Janis type athlete that can actually track the ball over his shoulder.

The trade puts Williams at 2nd /3rd round value.

LAC could move up for a QB, or another piece they feel pushes them over the hump.  OL, DL DB.

First of all, thank you for working so hard on your mock. It certainly does push the idea of draft day wheeling and dealing to its ultimate contusions.

The over and under on draft day trades sits at about 2 in my mind. A trade down in the first round probably does push that number up to 3, as it would get us more picks and show that we are trying hard to match our picks to the tiers that suit Gutey's board.

Monty could be used as a trade piece.  LAC could also get a complimentary RB in the mid rounds vs one in the last year of a rookie deal.

I like this very much. It agree that Watson and Thomas will/could go higher.

Also, why would the Chargers be moving up and for what?

Won't argue about Thomas or Watson being drafted a bit higher than what is here.  Could happen, as players do "slide" relative to various rankings.

LAC could be in the market for a development QB for sure.  Jumping ahead of ARI to land the last of the top 5 QB

I'll confess I dont know anything about this guy:

"Turay has explosion and burst but did not have much production at the college level.  He is worth a shot as a developmental pass rusher"

But....thats the best we can say for a 3rd Round selection? Seems like a reach....simply because of how he's defined.

Honestly, not busting on ya - but lets get *known value* for our top picks and leave the "developmental" guys for later on.

There is no "known value" in any draft pick.  It is maximizing likelihood of success.

After a trade down, it is late 3rd selection and adding a 4th and future 3rd.  That seems like really good to great value.

This is true....and "there's no such thing as a sure thing".....but some things are "surerer" than others :)

Not a problem or hassle. Was just thinking aloud.
