My case for the #Redskins taking Maurice Hurst with their 4th round pick. He’s a poor man’s Aaron Donald  - actually Hurst outweighs Donald by 10 pounds and Allen by 6 - and Donald flourished in Wade Phillips 3-4 one-gap scheme playing the 3-technique position in 2017.

With a 4th I think taking Hurst would probably be a good pick.  I love pass rushers and he was one of the best in the country last year.  I don't agree with you that he could contribute in our base defense, but as a pass rushing specialist in our nickle and dime looks he could do some damage.

I like the Redskins’ chances to get a contributor or two tomorrow. The expected surplus of picks next season gives them a little flexibility to move around, and they’ve had pretty decent success on Day 3 in recent years — Chris Thompson, Bashaud Breeland, Ryan Grant, Jamison Crowder, Matt Ioannidis, Montae Nicholson, Chase Roullier all in the last 5 drafts.

Would like to see a WR with YAC skills and maybe some KR ability as well. I’m sure they’ll look to target the secondary for some depth, and I’d be looking hard at ILBs who can cover.

However...I also want Shaquem Griffin. I know that’s the football fan equivalent of “basic af,” but I’m not apologizing for it. I love the guy. And I think he could fill a lot of roles for us.

Where do you think he would play for us?  Obviously he could contribute on special teams, but MLB or OLB?

Question, how many games at Michigan have you seen him play?

I’ve seen him play almost every game and he terrorized some of the biggest and strongest interior offensive lineman that have gone into the draft over the last 3 years and this year. Billy price for example who just went in round 1 had trouble blocking him. Hurst dominated the Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan St and Penn State OLs in his college career, he’s basically unblockable as a 3-tech because of the amazing quickness, leverage and strength he plays with. Oh, and just for the record his college competition was better than what Donald faced.

And again, a 3-technique is a 3-technique is a 3-technique no matter if it’s in a 4-3 base defense, a 3-4 one-gap defense or a 4-2-5 nickel defense. It’s the same position no matter where the other players on the field are lined up at.

3rd down/nickel OLB. He’s a pass rusher, he was mostly a 3-4 Stand up OLB or 4-3 DE at UCF. He could certainly play ILB or even SS for us but his best position is rushing the passer.

No offense but that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever read

I gotta agree with him. But unlike him. My college team is the greatest team in the history of sports. So I can make due easy with 0-16 for the Skins.

I could’ve sworn that was my college team...

I’m sorry, but I can never root for my favorite team to purposely lose or tank before the season starts. Sure, if it’s mid season and it looks like we won’t make the playoffs I’ll want the better draft pick but I won’t wish that before the season.

And I understand no one likes Bruce Allen but I don’t think you’re being honest when you say you would rather go 0-16 w/ this current team than to with a super bowl with them.

Super Bowl is the ultimate championship. I don’t give two craps about who’s in the front office and who it is that builds the team as long as they build a good one. Now if they don’t, or if they make poor decisions I’ll voice my displeasure with those decisions but from what I can tell - short of the Cousins debacle - this has been a good offseason for us and a good draft.

Were in a tough division, where the other teams improved. And one is the SB champion thats improved. This team will not win a super bowl, I doubt over the next few years if we even break 500 once. So considering the crap weve been through, and how over the next 5 years were likely to avg 5 to 7 wins. 0-16 to get rid of Bruce doesnt sound so bad. We will never have a 10 win season or such with these idiots that agents hate in charge. Great players are using us as a stepping stone for better contracts to teams they actually want to be part of. Cause who wants to be here putting up with the crap. Cause Im sure every agent has told their players that Bruce is a scumbag that theyd rather not deal with cause they cant trust a word hes said.

Right, so let’s blow it up like 2010 and bring in someone like Shanahan which didn’t work either. We have a playoff contending roster and once you get in anything can happen. We nearly beat the Eagles twice, Chiefs, Saints and Vikings last year and we did beat the Rams and Seahawks on the road last year. And that was w/o a starting caliber running back, 20 different OL combinations, Reed missing more games than he ever has, Grant being our most consistent wr and our entire defense battling injuries throughout the year - or being lost for the year - except our top 3 OLBs, our #2 and slot corners and our back up caliber players, some of which were forced to start because of injury throughout the season.

The Eagles may or may not be improved, they spent a lot in free agency/trades which generally messes with team and lockeroom chemistry; it did for them in 2011. They also have a starting qb coming off a torn Acl and almost every player who’s coming off a torn Acl takes two years at least until they’re back to where they were. I don’t think Wentz will be the same he was last year until possibly the end of the year. He won’t trust his knee and will be rusty in the first part of the year.

The cowboys are going to lose their heart and soul Jason Witten to retirement and their #1 wr is gone, Dez Bryant.

Now, the Giants have improved their running game by drafting Barkley and upgraded their OL, but at the same time they’re switching defensive schemes to a 3-4 and lost JPP which could make a defense that struggled last year continue to struggle as they transition.
