49ers cut Zane beadles

Recommended Posts

Don't think there is anyone that can be unhappy by this decision. His best quality is that he can play anywhere on the line. Bad thing is he sucks at all of them.

And Mags does the same exact thing, and is considerably cheaper, younger, and has at least some semblance of an unknown upside.

I wonder if this is to clear a roster spot for Mclain

Already had one opening so don't think that is it. Unless they plan on signing McClain and another player and needed two open spots.

Yeah even if he sucks we at least can hope he gets better. With Beadles he is what he is and that is a veteran that used to be pretty decent when he came in to the league but now just can't get it done physically.

Honestly, think it says something that we didn't even bother to take him into camp, particularly when you consider that we didn't draft a guard

Better off cutting him now. Don't want him to get injured in TC and then be on the hook for $4M+ in salary. It was always unlikely that he was going to beat out Tomlinson, Magnuson, Cooper, or Garnett. The financial risk outweighed the non-existent reward.
