As I've said before....65/run vs 35/pass. Maybe 60/40 More like approx. 55 pass/45 run. That would still put Washington in the bottom 3rd of the League ( acc. to last yr numbers ). .. and Jay likely should give that a go. If the OL is.. what I think it can be.. yes give it a go. The deciding factor doesn't have to be regarding C.T. and his 3rd down availability. It's more about not "forcing" Alex and these good but non-spectacular WRs to be the ones lifting all the heavy in obvious pass downs.
aceinthehouse
If this team is smart, they'll give Guice 20 carries a game by average or more. Work him like a dog. He's angry! Feed him the ball, like Marshawn Lynch wanted. Alex with 20-25 pass attempts Guice 20+ carries (3-5 catches) Thompson 5 carries by average (keep healthy) 2-4 catches Kelley with 2-4 carries perine with 1-3 carries Marshall with 1-2 carries Reed with most targets followed by Crowder followed by Doctson followed by Davis followed by Richardson followed by Harris followed by Quinn But keep attempts low, unless playing from behind. But pound the rock! I would like to see 30+ rushes in total at minimum every game. Distributed to our RB's. Win TOP Keep games close Play tough defense Win turn over battle Do that and we can ball games!
aceinthehouse
It's time for your daily Derrius Guice hype; Gets the carry to the right and quick-cuts back inside. De-cleats Pete Robinson in doing so and finds huge space ahead of him.#Redskins — Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) August 2, 2018

You have 5 rbs listed, at most we keep 4 and maybe only 3. It seems it’s likely to be: 1. Guice 2. Thompson 3. Kelley 4. Marshall Al Galdi had a hilarious segment this morning displaying Gruden’s almost over the top love for Kelley. He had a clip from 2016 when he was just gushing over him and it was hilarious. Then, Galdi played Gruden’s answer to a question about if Kelley will make the team. He answered it at first with like a shock that it was suggested by the reporter that Kelley wouldn’t make it. He then calmed down and got into coach speech and talked about Thompson’s time table. He said he believes he’ll be ready for week 1 but they’ll limit his touches and monitor them. He then mentioned Kelley, Bibbs in Marshall. The last two - with the way he phrased it - seem to be in competition for one spot. He didn’t mention Perine but it’s hard to imagine that last years 4th round pick is a total afterthought. So here’s my belief of the breakdown: Smith: 30 attempts Guice: 15-20 carries Thomson: 4-5 carries, 4-5 receptions And, that’s all folks! The 3rd & 4th strong guys likley won’t get reps, they rarely do. I think that Marshall or Bibbs will be kick returners if they make it, especially Marshall and he may be a punt returner. Marshall IMO has to be the front runner for the 4th RB just bc he can do everything Thompson does except he’s not quite as fast and dynamic. As far as the reception break down goes: 1. Reed (5 or 6 recs, 6 to 10 targets) 2. Crowder (4 or 5 recs, 5 to 8 targets) 3. 4. Thompson (4 or 5 recs, 5 to 8 targets) 4. Doctson (3 or 4 recs, 4 to 8 targets) 5. Richardson (2 to 4 recs), 4 to 6 targets) 6. Davis (2 to 4 recs), 4 to 6 targets) 7. Guice (2 to 4 recs), 4 to 6 targets) I think Harris, Davis and Quinn are not likely to get any targets (and 1 will be inactive most games) just like with the rbs and I’m not into predicting the “I” word. Quinn and Harris or Robert Davis would be lucky to combine for 20 receptions between the three of them on the season.

I dunno what to say that properly catches my disbelief.

They only need a little more than DISASTER at this spot. The QB is used to playing with terrible LGs, and I don't think the options here will drag a healthy OL down from the top half of OLs. You haven't seen Lauvao "play" before either.

aceinthehouse
I see there playing Ty at LG. He's a solid player & would upgrade this line even more, if he gets the start. With experienced Lavauo as depth. Really like the way this team is coming along.
aceinthehouse
Btw, did you guys hear the praise on Alex? Gets out of the huddle faster, calls the plays faster & doesn't hesitate on his throws. True leadership at the QB position. Such a breath of fresh air.
