Cominsky has a torn MCL and is out indefinitely, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The report says Cominsky could be “possibly back for the playoffs,” which would suggest he’s expected to miss the entire regular season. That’s a big loss. Cominsky started 11 regular-season games and all three playoff games for the Lions last season. Alas, we haven’t seen Mahogany since minicamp. The offensive guard is on the non-football illness list and has not practiced at all in the first week of training camp. Head coach Dan Campbell was asked about who will be playing during a press conference on Tuesday and his answer pointed to the players vying for spots on the bottom of the roster or the practice squad. Campbell said that he doesn’t see quarterback Jared Goff playing and that he will have plenty of company on the sideline. “I’ve got a little bit of an idea. The NFL confirmed to multiple reporters that both teams are going to be fined $200,000 due to the brawls that broke out at the Giants’ training facility. Hooker, playing in his first game of any kind since tearing his ACL at Tennessee in 2022, ran the ball four times for 34 yards and didn’t avoid contact, and Lions coach Dan Campbell indicated that it was a running play on which Hooker was injured. Campbell: “Obviously, he’s in the protocol. He’ll be evaluated. I don’t know how long it’s going to be. He got his bell rung. Obviously, we would have loved to get more time with him, but that’s one of those things that happens.
