Raiders sign DT's Johnathan Hankins & Clinton McDonald

Recommended Posts

I liked McDonald last year. He and McCoy were the only two on our defense who put any pressure on the QB. I have no idea why we let him go and brought in three other DTs.

Why did it take Hankins so long?

There were reports that he wanted too much money and priced himself out of consideration by a few teams.

The Raiders strategy: just sign everybody.

Hall and Ellis got injured week 1.  Ellis is on IR, so signing two DTs makes sense.

He was asking for too much money and his agent abd him wouldn’t adjust his asking price. His agent was Lavar Arrington’s old Agent who did such a bad job that he screwed Lavar out of $6.5 million one year because of a bonus Lavar supposed to get but his agent screwed it up. He was suspended for a while by the NFLPA but now he’s back.

It’s frankly amazing that the agent as clients, and Hankins has done himself no favors by employing him. Hank should’ve been on the Redskins, Lions or somewhere else in March, but no one was giving him a contract like he had for the Colts last year which paid him $10 million a year.

I don’t get it either or why he didn’t make the Broncos, he’s a solid DT.
