If you dont mind them for your franchise, thats cool.   I just prefer franchises to be as close to realistic to possible.  It was already hard for me to get past alot of the unrealistic trades you made.  :D;)

I don't want them either. The goal is to stay realistic with stats and progression, but to tear down the franchise and build through the draft.

I find it very boring to do a realistic rebuild because you are adding a small amount of new players, and honestly these write-ups and the tracking aspect takes a long time. I don't find it fun to have a bunch of real players. If Madden was better with how you could structure contracts, or had a more realistic aging system with players stats, that may change things.

@biggio7 took a team with a ton of good players, so that was hard to do.... so he just released a ton of them. Not realistic, but getting a half dozen 1st round picks isn't either.

I actually think the biggest problem with Madden right now is that the Frostbite engine is a bad physics engine for football.

Can't disagree. The changes they made this year in regards to sprinting and changing direction is one of the worst decisions they've made in recent memory.

I'm speaking to when you sprint you can't cut up-field. So if you catch a drag, you either have to keep sprinting and round the corner, and almost every time you get ankle tackled from behind while trying to do this, OR you can not sprint and cut upfield, which completely slows your momentum and the defense can easily tackle you on the spot.

This is similar with running - there is no preciseness when trying to cut. Everything is so jerky and just awful.

Overall madden is pretty crap

They switched to Frostbite last year, 18 & 19 have both been pretty terrible.

If EA gave a damn, they wouldve overhauled the Madden engine a decade ago.     Instead, theyve been basically using the same engine since the early PS2 days that have been "optimized" for each new console generation, then shoehorned in the Frostbite engine ON TOP OF the existing engine, which is why the game still has alot of the same issues is used to have ON TOP OF the issues with the poorly implemented Frostbite engine.

Madden hasnt cared about the football aspect of the game for awhile.    They know they can bamboozle kids and NFL fans to buy the game and foolishly throw tons of money at MUT.    Its disgusting, but they get away with it.   At this point, I blame the NFL for allowing them to get away with it, but just like EA, the NFL only cares about money.

Actually the AI has gotten even worse since 15-16.  The new engine has defenders in the secondary stand there while offensive players run right by them.  LBers cover WAY too much ground when the ball is in the air, making throwing over the middle a roll of the dice.  Balls get tipped into the air way too often and picked off.  It’s very difficult to concentrate on game strategy when the ball and players don’t move the way you would expect them to.

University of Troy QB Ryan Mendoza has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft

A Junior fresh off the National Championship victory against the Florida Gators, Ryan Mendoza has decided that he's ready to move on from the once 'quaint' football program at Troy and a career in the NFL. The Hawaii native projects to be a very high draft pick in the draft coming this April. Now we bring in Mel Kiper Jr for more:

I really like Ryan Mendoza as a quarterback at the next level, he's really great all around even though you can't find any one thing in particular about him that's necessarily elite. He has that prototypical size you look for at 6'4" and 220-225 lbs, and plenty of experience starting during all three of his seasons at Troy. He has great arm strength but it's not on par with guys like Josh Allen or Matthew Stafford, but we do have evidence on tape him throwing it 60 plus yards through the air so we know he can hurl it. He's very accurate, he completed over 75 percent of his passes in all 3 of his seasons at Troy, granted his first two seasons he played in Conference USA and in his junior year, the Big XII which isn't exactly known for it's defense. He's great at reading the field and finding the open man and he can make any throw you ask of him. One thing I really was looking for in this past season compared to his years as an underclassmen was the ability to not allow his mistakes to snowball and dictate the rest of the game. He's never had stifling interception numbers in his career, but previously it seemed they always came in bunches and when he made a mistake he'd continue making those sort of mistakes to the point where it could cost his team. However this season he came out and showed better mental resiliency to move past his misplays and still put up winning performances. Now, there are a couple of things that still aren't fantastic about Mendoza, he's about as quick and agile as Tom Brady, and that's the one way young aspiring quarterbacks aren't hoping to be compared to the Legend. He can extend plays in the pocket, however he's not going to outrun anybody and he doesn't always step up in the pocket when he should to evade the rush. Other than that the biggest negative I see about Mendoza is his hairline, however I've heard there are specialists he can go see to sort of work on that aspect of his game. If we're looking for a comparison to recent names, I'd say he reminds me the most of Philip Rivers with a bit higher of a ceiling.
