Joel Sherman:  With all the hand wringing what will be thought when Machado, Harper and Arenado (extension?) combined are guaranteed near $1 billion this offseason?

<Looks like Manny got his cash after all. In this collusion / corrupt world we live in.....he got his. Go figure>

According to this forum wasn't there a massive conspiracy cooked up by MLB and owners to screw over the players?

No, but teams have stopped spending on players. Revenues are down and the players are getting screwed. It takes like 20 seconds on google to find a graph showing that.

Don't bother bro, it's the FF baseball forum way to draw conclusions before anything gets settled.. Been like that since 2007

Does it ever get tiring being a feckless pedant over genuine labor concerns?

It’ll never get old to parrot “its the market bro” to things that have nothing to do with the magical free market.

It's a government protected monopoly where every 5 years a ton of lawyers have to gather and write a several hundred page contract exhausting everything from travel/hotel responsibilities to service time to who tips the clubbies.

Just as Ayn Rand intended.

I honestly can't think of a single more regulated market than Sports.

Certain level of irony that all these obscenely wealthy people are all for regulation when it benefits them. But that's neither here nor there.
