He has a strong arm and is a great athlete, I'm not denying that. But it takes more than that to be a franchise quarterback. He was a starter for 1 year in a great system, with an elite offensive coach, protected by an elite offensive line, playing with elite weapons in the pass-happy Big XII. What happens when everything isn't going to his way like against Alabama where he looked below average.

His game against Alabama was my favorite it shows he's a fighter imo. Everything didn't go right but he fought them tooth and nail when his team was obviously overmatched he was clearly the best player on the field.

Kyler is not perfect and his hieght might be an issue. I just fantasize about having a qb that might be able to beat Mahomes one day.

Carr almost did that last year 🤔. If not for every RB on the team fumbling, it would've happened.

Lazy analysis.  if you look at the throws he made throughout the year, You see an NFL talent arm. He is throwing with touch, Accuracy, And velocity. And he's making throws from the pocket which is Huge. But still have the athletic ability to do it off schedule.

 Lazy analysis?  There’s not much to analyze that’s the point.

He also has a great O-lime and plenty of time to throw .

There are two starting QB in the NFL right now that were Big XII guys, Patrick Mahomes, and Baker Mayfield. Mahomes came into the perfect situation and Mayfield is a special guy with leadership and moxie that you can't teach. Why aren't there more guys coming out of that conference? It's almost like playing in a conference with 4-5 WR in shotgun against nonexistent defenses doesn't translate to the NFL or something.

The NFL is changing. Before 2017 (Goff) there was not a single successful Air Raid QB in the NFL. Which is why I thought Goff would bust hard and I’m a hardcore Cal Bear fan and have a Goff jersey.

However, with the rule changes, being a Air Raid College QB really doesn’t matter much anymore. Before Goff, Air Raider QBs drafted in the NFL were like an outstanding 0-21 in the top two rounds. Now you have Goff, Baker, and Mahomes all successful within two years. As long as you got the talent and tools in todays NFL, it can work.

He's a fighter because he couldn't stop one of the most talented teams in the country from getting blown out on the biggest stage? OU was STACKED last season and got smacked by Alabama largely because Murray couldn't make plays until the game was already over.

Jared Goff, Patrick Mahomes, and Baker Mayfield are all in offenses with a ton of talent around them.

We have the offensive coach, a solid #1, a solid #2, solid line outside of RT but if Kolton improves our line could be good. We need a RB and slot WR and it could be a very good offense.

@NYRaider

- Murray ranked #1 in college football under pressure and #2 against the blitz according to PFF. The guy does not get rattled under pressure like Carr and does not get happy feet. He stands in the pocket and delivers the strike. His OL comments are total bias trying to discredit him with lazy analysis. Yeah he had a good line but doesn’t mean he sucks under pressure.

1

Playing behind an elite college offensive line with elite weapons in the Big XII. He was playing against the 70th-80th best defense in the country on any given week. The NFL is an entirely different beast.

That’s not the point. When he did get pressured, as in his OL broke down, he stayed in the pocket and delivered the strike. He does NOT get disturbed or rattled by pressure is the point. He was #1 facing pressure in college football, by a large margin.

How much did he get pressured in the Big XII playing behind one of the top 5 OL in the country? According to PFF he was only pressured on 66 of his 377 attempts (17%).
