I don't think he's been smart in who he's chosen, or not chosen to hire on the defensive side of the ball. Wade Phillips should have been our defensive coordinator hire in 2015. Perhaps the results wouldn't have been different but I think we would have been a bit better on D since then if Wade had been hired even though our talent was below average in 2015, 16 & 17. He's the head coach. Both sides of the ball are his responsibility. His failure to hire Wade (to insult him no less) is on his shoulders.
