Malcolm Jenkins has signed w/ the Saints for 4 years, $32M w/ $16.5M fully guaranteed, per NFL source. There’s a $9M signing bonus. Total number could reach $35M if he hits play time/win incentives. Jenkins’ had 1 year left at $7.6M w/ #Eagles before they declined option day ago.

Crazy deal, Prolly void years tho on back half like they did with brees

something about 3 year windows and the old one ending and this just being the start of a second.

That would be a letdown for the season. Almost makes sense at this very moment though with the lake of moves and the experiment in Jalen at Safety. Short deals for Hargrave and McLeod. No Moves at CB/WR/LB

Not cutting Alshon yet too

Is there any other way to look at it? Everyone expected the Eagles to come out and be big spenders in FA this offseason and they have done next to nothing.

It doesn't make sense though. Shouldn't a team with a franchise QB, potentially elite o-line, a stud young RB, great TEs, and very good d-line look to build upon that foundation an fill some holes? Saying they don't expect to compete next season is basically saying they don't expect the team to progress or expect the team to continue to be injured constantly. You get one or two solid starters in the secondary and LB positions and hit on a draft pick or two and you have a legit contender. Maybe the FO doesn't expect to draft well which is realistic I guess.

I dont know this current strategy seems to me like they think they will draft well otherweise no way this is the back 7 of a competitive team right?
