beekay414
18 months ago, he was knocked out by Izzy clean. 18 months later, he's 5-0 at 205 with 3 title defenses. Just unreal.
DreamKid
Pereira dominant again. This fight felt very McGregor-Siver ish, kind of a showcase beat down against a fighter from the lower rankings. Crowd gets to watch a fan friendly slaughter and it raises the profile of your star. Alex probably gets hit more than he should, but I don't think he was actually hurt. Looked like he got caught out of position and kind of moved awkwardly with the punch to remove himself from the exchange. He beat up the lead leg, tossed out some highlight potential head kicks, then dialed it in to bust up the inferior competition whose only offense was telegraphed swings. We got to see him work a little more down the pipe in this one with the jab and kicks to the stomach too which was fun. Typically he's more hook dominant, but those are tough to land against a short fighter in that stance. Obviously Pereira has that Ankalaev fight hanging out there, but he's essentially out of name opponents at 205. He'll be forced to either cut insane weight again for 185 or take on guys cutting down to 265 at HW if he wants more big money fights- which he probably should prioritize at his age. Alex is the most organic superstar for the UFC in a long long time, and man is he fun to watch.
