If I’m LAC and I’m going all in...I’m signing TB12, trading a 3rd and a future pick for Trent, signing Bryan Bulaga to a two-year deal, keeping Henry of course, and drafting Jeudy. Then I’m looking to land Muti or another OG at the top of the 2nd round. Probably trying to resign Gordon or maybe looking at Freeman as well.

Put Tom out there with Keenan Allen, Hunter Henry, Jerry Jeudy, and Austin Ekeler — along with an OL that includes Trent Williams, Netane Muti, Mike Pouncey, Trai Turner, and Bryan Bulaga — and you’re really in business. That’s arguably the most talented team in the AFC at that point around Tom.

They might need to add Trent (or one of those other LT guys) sooner rather than later, as part of their pitch to get Tom on board. Tampa Bay probably has better talent on offense at the moment — and they have Arians, which could be a selling point. LAC may need to step up and prove they’re for real in order to get Tom in the door.

Why do the chargers need to sign another guard? They traded Okung for TrainTurner and they drafted Forest Lamp & Dan Feeley.

Very curious in how confident WAS was in landing Amari - curious to know what the plan is now.  Looks like we'll be targeting at least one big name this off season if we were so confident offering 22m/yr for one player.  Interested to see who are plan B target is now.

Agree with you, but I’m not sure I see the big ticket items left on the board.

With Littleton falling off, most of the remaining top FAs play positions we don’t really need — whether it’s the veteran starting level QBs or guys like Harris, Clowney, Reader, Pierce, etc. Robby Anderson isn’t a great fit with Haskins, whose biggest weakness as a thrower is the deep ball (in my opinion), and I’m not too interested in guys like Sanders or Ebron or Perriman, for various reasons.

Joe Schobert remains a guy I would sign, but I’m sure they don’t think he’s any better than Holcomb or SDH or Bostic either. Maybe Damarious Randall or Tre Boston?

At this point, I think their biggest splurge should be using this cap space to eat the Alex Smith hit this season. What’s the point in waiting? They’re plainly not using the space for anything meaningful, so why not just take the hit now and get it over with.

you have a good point on Smith''s contract. I was hoping the new CBA would have language in it that addressed issues like his where a career ending injury gave the team some salary cap relief.

Because neither of those guys can play? Lamp can’t even get on the field (7 games in 3 NFL seasons), and Feeney is a bum.

Two other guys that I could see looking into are Devon Kennard (released by Lions after signing Jamie Collins) and Jordan Jenkins (FA from the Jets). They’re both really more pass-rushers than true off-ball LBs, so it probably wouldn’t make much sense — they’d sorta duplicate Ryan Anderson as 4-3 DE/SLB tweeners — but they’re pretty impactful players.

Desmond Trufant would make some sense as a guy to compete with Moreau (and Moreland) for a starting role outside. He fits Rivera’s general mold as a proven veteran CB to come in and play immediately for a couple years. He never grew into the star people expected him to be after his rookie year, but he’s solid enough.

I can’t wait to see what obscure back up TE we sign to too much money.

WE finally got rid or Allen and his Dummy Gruden. We are on our honeymoon with Coach Ron. I'm giving him through September and going to be watching the offseason (free agency, drafts, UFA), especially watching training camp practices, and if he plays the guys in the real games that actually perform. Also game preparation and in-game adjustments.
