TL-TwoWinsAway
Found this interesting. Bleacher Report is doing a "greatest roster of all time" simulation with each NFL team. (I guess these will be streamed by them on Twitch. Not much of a Twitch guy...) As can be expected, there are some pretty crazy rosters. The Lions stack up as follows: Matthew Stafford, QB (87 OVR) Barry Sanders, RB (99 OVR) Billy Sims, RB (91 OVR) Calvin Johnson, WR (96 OVR) Herman Moore, WR (90 OVR) Golden Tate III, WR (87 OVR) Marvin Jones Jr, WR (86 OVR) Charlie Sanders, TE (93 OVR) Lomas Brown, OL (90 OVR) Lou Creekmur, OL (90 OVR) Kevin Glover, OL (86 OVR) Ed Flanagan, OL (85 OVR) Rocky Freitas, OL (82 OVR) Ndamukong Suh, DL (95 OVR) Trey Flowers, DL (87 OVR) Alex Karras, DL (87 OVR) Ezekiel Ansah, DL (84 OVR) Joe Schmidt, LB (95 OVR) Chris Spielman, LB (92 OVR) Wayne Walker, LB (87 OVR) Night Train Lane, CB (98 OVR) Lem Barney, CB (94 OVR) **** LeBeau, CB (90 OVR) Dre Bly, CB (89 OVR) Darius Slay Jr, CB (89 OVR) Jack Christiansen, S (92 OVR) Yale Lary, S (91 OVR) Jason Hanson, K (90 OVR) Sam Martin, P (75 OVR) https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2883549-br-goat-sim-introducing-the-all-time-madden-rosters Some crazy good names and ratings on that list, although I was surprised/disappointed that our 5th best OLinemen is an 82 overall rated player. Doesn't seem right. Thoughts? Edited March 30, 2020 by TL-TwoWinsAway

Barry and Calvin on the field at the same time... amazing.

There are some insane historic teams.

Sllim Pickens
No Robert Porcher, especially over Ziggy? And I think you can find plenty of OTs in the history of the Lions with a rating above an 82. Also kind of shocked our third best LB is in the 80s. Seems like Pat Swilling or someone else in history was better than Wayne Walker.

And jason Hanson a 90?
LionArkie
No Jerry Ball? Dude was a beast.
diehardlionfan
There isn’t a Dlineman on the list that can hold a candle to Roger Brown.
BigC421/
That roster is pretty putrid actually, I mean is that offense any better than the 89 49ers on paper? Is it worse? That said Karas is criminally underrated and Lebeau and Barney should probably each be a few points higher. Night Train and Calvin should be 99s in there prime
Karnage84
Apparently Madden agrees with Matt Patricia that Slay is good but not elite (whether that's for real or just trying to motivate a guy) with an 89 overall rating.
