it’s not like there’s a lot going on to keep players out of trouble.

Not really an excuse. Not the only college campus like this. Don't hear about Bowling Green players behaving recklessly on a consistent basis and there ain't **** around that campus.

Didn’t mean it as an excuse, though it came off like that in context.

Kirby has to fix it, but the NCAA has lost their teeth when it comes to stuff like this.  15 years ago, they’re probably all up in their business.

Yeah, I know. Then it's on Kirby, UGA athletics or the SEC to get a handle on it. It's obvious they don't care since it continues to happen.

Tennessee is adding a 10% “talent finding fee” to tickets as a way to pay for NIL stuff. Gross. The Haslams must be hurting with that Watson contract.

Gross indeed, but even if it may not be a requirement now, it's probably gonna be going forward. There's the report of course that we paid/are paying Nico 8 million over the course of his career here. Our recruiting has only gotten better since then, having another absurdly talented/highly touted 5 star QB committed among others.

Ohio State reportedly spent between 15 and 20 million for the roster they're using this year.

Teams like Ohio State with Ryan Day have a coach that has proven year in and year out he's gonna produce elite offenses that get players picked highly in the draft. Josh Heupel seems to be on that same trajectory. Of course coaches like Kirby, Riley, etc are all uber successful to with developing talent.

For the top prospects each year, they're going to have plenty of choices to go to a school with elite developmental abilities, so what is going to be the deciding factor in a lot of cases is financial opportunity.

Nico wouldn't have come here, Arch wouldn't have gone to Texas, etc, etc just because Heupel and Sarkisian know how to produce great QB play. They can get that at a rather large handful of other schools too. It's because they could pay them competitive and/or the highest price.
