Trade up draft.
#31 and #63 for #19.
#136, #181, 5th in 2022 for #115

At #19 I had the choice of Darrisaw, Jenkins, Basham, AVT, and J O-K, among others. If we had stayed put, we could have had Rousseau and Radunz.

Where is your Mock site?

You say you traded Chiefs 1st and 2nd for 19? That won't get you close for Darrisaw really.  Bengals, Panthers, Lions, Cowboys, Giants want OT's. Then you forgot the Chargers at 13. They'll take Darrisaw if none of the others before them do.

Now your stuck with Cosmi and you could of had him anyway with no trading at all.

I showed you the options that were sitting at #19. J O-K, Ja'Maar Chase, Jenkins, and AVT are still on the board after our pick. Some are reaches because of need. This is the actual result:

1 QB Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars
2 QB Justin Fields - New York Jets
3 QB Trey Lance - San Francisco 49ers
4 QB Zach Wilson - Atlanta Falcons
5 WR Jaylen Waddle - Cincinnati Bengals
6 WR Devonta Smith - Miami Dolphins
7 OT Penei Sewell - Detroit Lions
8 OT Rashawn Slater - Carolina Panthers
9 CB Caleb Farley - Denver Broncos
10 CB Patrick Surtain II - Dallas Cowboys
11 EDGE Kwity Paye - New York Giants
12 CB Jaycee Horn - Philadelphia Eagles
13 TE Kyle Pitts - LA Chargers
14 DL Christian Barmore - Minnesota Vikings
15 WR Kadarius Toney - New England Patriots
16 EDGE Azeez Ojulari - Arizona Cardinals
17 LB Micah Parsons - Las Vegas Raiders
18 EDGE Joseph Ossai - Miami Dolphins
19 OT Christian Darrisaw - Kansas City Chiefs

What goofy site are you using? Makes no sense "J".

Bengels will take an OT for sure. Then you have Lions, Panthers taking an OT. OK. That's it. No more top 3 OT's. And what of the Chargers? They're gonna get one if it slides by Lions, Panthers.

That means no Darrisaw for KC.

I could see either the Chargers or the Raiders taking Darrisaw. Frankly I am surprised that LV didn't take AVT.

It's hard to argue any one pick is irrational, though several are taken well about the big board slot. So, AVT, ranked #15 slides to Pittsburgh at #24. that's the steal of the round and it was purely machine pick.

It's worth considering that in real life there are contingency trades, ie if a player slides, then the trade happens. We did that to get Mahomes, with the trade set up during the week before the draft. Buffalo also did well on that trade.

  • Kansas City Chiefs received: No. 10 pick in 2017 NFL Draft (Patrick Mahomes)
  • Buffalo Bills received: No. 27 pick in 2017 NFL Draft (Tre'Davious White); third-round 2017 pick (this pick was packaged in a trade that led to Buffalo taking both tackle Dion Dawkins and receiver Zay Jones); first-round 2018 pick (used to trade up and take linebacker Tremaine Edmunds; Buffalo also drafted defensive back Siran Neal with a final pick acquired along with Edmunds)

Note that #27, a 3rd round pick and a future 1st only moved up to #10.

Bengals signed Reiff,  it’s not a guarantee they take a T.  With Jonah Williams,  it’s certainly possible to let one slide.

Naw. It's Penei Sewall. He's the draft day Superman on the Oline.

Why passing on Penei Sewell could be big risk for Bengals

Sewell was a consensus first-team All-America selection in his final season at Oregon in 2019. Pro Football Focus graded Sewell’s season as the best by an offensive lineman since PFF started issuing marks in 2014. In the modern game, there’s no guarantee when the next player like Sewell will be available. That’s a risk NFL teams passing on him must be willing to take.

And about Reiff?

The 32-year-old Reiff told reporters Friday that he would play right tackle in Cincinnati, a side he started 14 games in Detroit in 2016. Starting Reiff on the right side enables to Bengals to keep Williams on at left tackle or draft a replacement.

I know J.Williams and he's no P.Sewell.

Burrow in Cincy will have an enviable Oline with both Sewell and Reiff manning the edges.

I agree that Sewell makes sense for the Bengals, but you cannot call it a sure thing. Personally, I would give them Caleb Farley or Patrick Surtain. Bigger need and a thinner position. They can expect to get a quality OT at #34. Taking the top WR also makes as much sense as Bengals drafts typically do.

I mean I know who they are.  I’m just saying acting like you know Cinci is for sure going OL is pretty crazy.   Possible,  but I’ve seen much stranger things.

I’m not sure what the ESPN article says, ESPN is a joke I’m sad I just gave them a hit lol.

Kyle Pitts is a very reasonable pick for the Chargers. You can also make the case for CB or Edge rusher.

You are acting like Darrisaw is a top five talent like Sewell. More realistically, he's in the 12-15 range. That particular list had him at #14. Given that there are zero CB and only one Edge above him on the Big Board, it's not surprising he drops to #19. Indeed, I have seen him fall to #29 from the same spot on the Big Board.

That's still pretty rich. I think #13 is the top of his range and he could slide a ways if the Chargers don't take him. Maybe LV, but the Raiders are looking to defense or IOL more than OT. One of the points for trading to #19 is that Washington is another candidate to take him.

I must admit, with the board as it came down above, I probably should have gone with Ja'Marr Chase. He was seriously sliding.

I just did another draft with the same Big Board. Darrisaw went #29, again. it points out another wrinkle, teams don't always take the top player on the board at the position--Darrisaw was #14, Jenkins #31, Leatherwood #25.
