Simulated Mock Drafts

Ehh I think Surratt still has plenty of room for growth.  He was playing QB his early years at UNC,  it wasn’t until his Junior year that he started focusing on LB.

Browning has always been a LB.   I think he’s more of what you see is what you get, and that’s someone who is going to thrive in an attacking role,  but struggle if you put him in a ton of coverage and read and react situations.   Surratt’s coverage instincts are already miles better and he’s been playing LB for a shorter period of time.   That’s not to say I dislike Browning,  I just think he’s exactly what we have in Willie Gay

225-230 is right around what a lot of linebackers play at these days.  He’s basically the same size as Darius Leonard,   Bigger than Deion Jones.   Size won’t be an issue,  just how much more his instincts develop.  Play strength is solid for his size.

Is AVT a true LT in the NFL? Best case he's a developing LT who gets better and is top 10-15 in year 2-3. Worst case he's a great OG imo.

At 6'4", 300lbs., he's on the smallish side. I think that's a struggle for him at OT, but no problems at OG.

That's a great draft if we come out with those players.

As I said, the list was a candy store. second rate lists let you do things like this. For example, even though most of the WR were overrated, there was still a handful of value deeper into the process.

I'm reinstituting my rule of only picking someone ranked within 7 spots of the draft slot, unless they fell. I wanted to take a little different path on this one and force myself to scout a little more.

31. Terrace Marshall Jr., WR LSU - Starts day one opposite Hill. He and Collins are BPA here imo. I'm not taking Collins to try something different. Also considered: Caleb Farley, Liam Eichenberg

63. James Hudson, OT Cincinnati - Competes to start at LT. I think he could start day one and be alright playing next to Thuney. He'll need a couple years to reach his potential imo. Also considered: Jevon Holland, Alex Leatherwood

94. Paulson Adebo, CB Stanford - Competes to start and is likely first man off the bench. Should start with Sneed in '22+. Also considered: Payton Turner, Cam McGrone

136. Kendrick Green, IOL Illinois - Competes to start at OC. Good depth and developmental talent to start in '22, if not '21 at OG/C. His weaknesses are coachable. Also considered: Kylin Hill, Richard LeCounte III

144. Joshuah Bledsoe, S Missouri - Heir to Sorensen's, or Mathieu's, spot in '22. Depth and special teams player in '21. Also considered: Kylin Hill, Caden Sterns

175. Patrick Johnson, Edge Tulane - The guy can play. I think Spags could line him up at DE or LB depending on the package. Also considered: Anthony Schwartz, Jaret Patterson

181. Ihmir Smith-Marsette, WR Iowa - Competes with Hardman and should take over return duties. Not sure how I've slept on this guy, but the first impression was real positive. Also considered: Josh Imatorbhebhe, Shi Smith

207. Jermar Jefferson, RB Oregon State - Upgrade the RB depth and takes over as the #2 back in '22. Should get a couple touches a game. Also considered: No one inside my ruleset. Just outside: Robert Rochell, Paris Ford, Alaric Jackson, and Scary Terry

PFN MOCK DRAFT SIMULATOR - All trades made were trade offers accepted, not proposals.  The only future picks given away was a 7th round pick in 2022.

Draft is one month out!

I think I'm going to stick with this one for a while. I find myself doing the same thing a lot at this point.

31. Zaven Collins, LB

63. Walker Little, OT

94. Paulson Adebo, CB

136. Kendrick Green IOL

144. Josh Imatorbhebhe, WR

175. Patrick Johnson, Edge

181. Jermar Jefferson, RB

207. Paris Ford, S

+ Ideally give up a 2022 pick to trade back in for Scary Terry
