Not sure why since I didn't do trades. DEFENSE 31. Zaven Collins, LB Tulsa - Day one starter. Maybe my favorite pick for us right now. 63. Jevon Holland, S Oregon - Competes for and likely #3 safety who will see plenty of playing time. 94. Jordan Smith, Edge UAB - Should compete to start opposite Clark. Worst case is he's the first man off the bench, which is still playing quite a bit. 136. Ambry Thomas, CB Michigan - Depth guy who has starting potential. Will probably need a half year or so to back into game shape after sitting out 2020. 144. Rashad Weaver, DE Pittsburgh - Rotational guy who can hopefully develop into a starter when Clark likely becomes a cap casualty. 176. Justin Hilliard, LB Ohio State - Slight reach for need maybe. Developmental guy mostly. 180. Mustafa Johnson, DL Colorado - I reached based on his ranking. But he does not deserve to fall this far, let alone be the 262nd ranked player. If we had the need at DT I wouldn't hate taking him at 94. But he's a luxury pick and the value is too insane to pass up. 217. Robert Rochell, CB Central Arkansas - Despite his letdown performance at the Senior Bowl, I like his potential 1-3 years down the line. I think Sam Madison and Dave Merritt would help him a lot. OFFENSE 31. Liam Eichenberg, OT Notre Dame - He's our LT. Fisher is likely out for the year and who knows how or if he returns on the wrong side of 30. 63. James Hudson, OL Cincinnati - Listed as OT, but I think we move him to OG. He either wins an OG job or becomes the 6th man. 94. Hunter Long, TE Boston College - Clear upgrade at #2 TE and has the potential to be a good #1 after Kelce is gone. 136. Sage Surratt, WR Wake Forest - Should compete with Pringle to take over Watkins role. If he can quickly learn the playbook, he could win it and start day one. 149. Anthony Schwartz, WR Auburn - Competes with Hardman and should take over the returner duties. If he can quickly learn the playbook he should take over Hardman's role sooner rather than later. 176. Kylin Hill, RB Mississippi State - One of my favorite RB for us this year. Upgrades the depth and allows us to save money by cutting Dam Williams. 180. Drake Jackson, OL Kentucky - Competes to start at OG and C. 252. Tamorrion Terry, WR Florida State - I don't care if we've taken 5 WR already. If Scary Terry is there in the 7th, you take Scary Terry. For real though, there is absolutely zero reason for him to be ranked so low. It's damn near criminal. KCsb Posted February 25, 2021 Share Posted February 25, 2021 Mel Kiper draft 2.0 has the Chiefs taking Walker Little, OT Stanford This might be a new name for some, but Little made my preseason Big Board all the way back in August of 2019. That was ahead of the 2020 draft. Then he injured his knee in the season opener and missed the rest of that season and opted out of 2020, so he hasn’t played much football since. I called Little more of a finesse tackle in 2019, but he has a great frame (6—7, 315 pounds) and can move his feet. He started as a true freshman at Stanford. There is some projection here, but Little has some great tape from 2017 and 2018. Scouts will be able to see him up close at his pro day next month. Why risk a medical case when there a other guys out there without the issue. I'd much rather have a Liam Eichenberg or Jalen Mayfield who should be available to us. These guys are NFL ready. AND he hasn't played at all since he got injured. Can he even go out there and compete?? No Thanks. It's fine to be cautious, but this is one of the best talents in the draft. He has ideal size and length, excellent balance and mobility, good athleticism and excels at pass protection. Without the injury and time off, he in the Slater, Darrishaw, Mayfield tier, and a clear level above Eichenburg, Cosmi and Radunz.
