I always thought it was just if the offense continued to play it through/it was immediate reaction, yet the Patriots have had two plays blown dead even after trying to get a free play off.

Encroachment is when the offsides player touches an offensive player, which is a stoppage. If you're just offsides, not unabated to the QB, the play should be let go by the refs

He's still not what he was IMO. Every 3 or 4 attempts will have a serious fade off to the right, but certainly better than last year.
