matt79511
Coast to coast road games to open the year is pretty tough, especially against two good opponents, though at least they're spaced out. Week 11-16 looks like our toughest prolonged stretch. Gonna have to dominate the early/mid-season stretch and win our last 2 or 3, probably, though it could just come down to the two Washington games. Or, we could actually have multiple NFCE playoff teams this year.
acowboys62
Hey, odds are super slim that we end the season .500 so that's cool. ...If we go 8-8-1 I am probably officially done as a fan...
Texas_OutLaw7
Wanted to do a deeper dive into each game. Come along for this journey! @ Tampa Bay [NBC] Primetime Game -- NFL Kickoff, Thursday Night Note -- Defending Super Bowl Champion. Tom Brady + WR Core // Bowls Defense. Expect a shootout. Travel Impact -- Minimal, first out of the gate game. Plenty of time to prep. Projected: Win 1-0-0 @ Chargers [CBS] Afternoon Game Note -- 1st home game opening with Fans for the Chargers. Jerry must also be excited. Hebert year 2. Defense healthy. Expect a ton of Cowboys fans to show up. Travel Impact -- Win for Dallas, we get 10 days off in between games. Whereas Chargers play week 1 AT Washington and have to travel back. Expect a shootout. Projected: Win 2-0-0 vs Eagles [ESPN] Primetime Game -- Monday Night Football Note -- 1st home game for Dallas with all eyes in a primetime game. Not a great team, but rival game. Starts a 3 game home-stretch. Would be interesting to see how the Rookie Smith is adapting to the offense. Travel Impact -- Wash for both teams. Eagles are coming off a home game against the 49ers. Dallas is coming back from the Chargers. Although, the following week the Eagles play the Chiefs & may be looking ahead. Projected: Win 3-0-0 vs Panthers [FOX] Noon Game Note -- Horn, who wanted to be a Cowboy, gets to play against us. Travel Impact -- Benefits Panthers despite traveling. They play the other Texas team in week 3 at Houston … on Thursday Night. So they get 10 days break. Projected: Win 4-0-0 vs Giants [Fox] Afternoon Game Note -- 2nd division rival in the first five weeks. Using up 2 of our 3 home division rival games. Important for that reason. Redball's return. Travel Impact -- Benefits Dallas, Giants are coming off back-to-back road games facing the Saints the week before. Projected: Win 5-0-0 @ Patriots [CBS] Afternoon Game Note -- Likely still Cam at QB. No major winter weather concerns Travel Impact -- Wash for both teams. Patriots would have played in Texas the week before against Houston. Projected: Win 6-0-0 BYE Note -- Early bye, with an equal amount of home and away games played. @ Vikings [NBC] Primetime Game - Sunday Night Football Note -- Halloween!! Justin Jefferson vs CeeDee debate. Travel Impact -- Vikings also have a bye the week before. The week before they traveled to Carolina. Wash for both teams. Projected: Win 7-0-0 vs Denver [Fox] Noon Game Note -- The Surtain game. Will Bridgewater/Lock prove worthy starters? How will their impressive secondary hold up against our WRs? 1st of back to back home games. Travel Impact -- Broncos were at home the week before against Washington. Wash for both teams. Projected: Win 8-0-0 vs Falcons [Fox] Noon Game Note -- Dan Quinn faces off against his former team. Who the hell is covering Pitts? Expect a shootout. Travel Impact -- 2nd road game in a row for the Falcons as they faced the Saints the previous week. Win for Dallas Projected: Loss 8-1-0 [Dallas is looking ahead to KC] @ Chiefs [Fox] Afternoon Game Note -- Best QB in the league. Expect a shootout. Travel Impact -- Chiefs play the week before on Sunday Night Football AT the Raiders. Raiders have had the Chiefs number recently. Certainly benefits Dallas in a significant way. Arrowhead Stadium is a different beats, though. So advantage KC. Projected -- Loss - 8-2-0 vs Raiders [CBS] Primetime Game -- Thanksgiving Note -- Dallas ol' Defensive Coordinator has a homecoming of sorts. I can see this being a ground and pound game. Travel Impact -- Raiders are coming off of a two-game home stretch. Play Cinci the week before. Short week for both teams. Projected -- Win 9-2-0 @ Saints [Amazon] Primetime Game -- Thursday Night Football Note -- Starts the 3 game road stretch for Dallas with the following two being rivals. Very easy for Dallas to overlook this game. Travel Impact -- Both teams play the Thursday the week before. Back-to-back home games for the Saints after facing the Bills the week before. Advantage Saints. Projected -- Win 10-2-0 @ Washington [Fox] Noon Game Note -- 2nd round game, 1st time playing Washington within 3 weeks. Have another divisional road game the following week. Best DL in football, will Dallas OL be healthy? Travel Impact -- The week before Washington play at the Raiders, so they had a coast to coast travel. Whereas Dallas has a 10 day mini break due to previous game is Thursday. Advantage Dallas. Projected -- Loss 10-3-0 @ Giants [Fox] Noon Game Note -- Weather could be a factor this late in December. Rival game sandwich between two other rival games. Travel Impact -- Giants are coming off two back-to-back Road games, one of which was a west coast game against the Chargers giving them a minimal advantage. Projected -- Win 11-3-0 vs Washington [NBC] Primetime Game -- Sunday Night Football Note -- 1st home game in the span of 4 week, third division game in as many weeks. Game could potentially decide if the Division is a race or not. Travel Impact -- Dallas is finally home, the day after Christmas no less. Washington is also in a 3 divisional game gauntlet after having traveled to Philly the week before & worse they face the Eagles and Giants after. In total they have 5 divisional games in as many weeks to close the season. Advantage Dallas. Projected -- Win 12-3-0 vs Cardinals [Fox] Noon Game Note -- Playoff seeding implications. Cardinals likely play in the toughest division in football and will likely need this game down the stretch. Mobile QBs give Dallas fits. Travel Impact -- Second consecutive home game for Dallas, Cardinals played on Christmas day (a day before Dallas) at home. Making this a wash. Projected -- Loss 12-4-0 @ Eagles [Fox] Noon Game Note -- This game could be important or irrelevant. Travel Impact -- Eagles are coming off 4 Divisional games - and 5 in 6 weeks having played at Washington the week before. Wash for both teams. Projected -- Win 13-4-
Texas_OutLaw7
Honestly we have a really favorable schedule. I think 10 wins should be the floor for this team & coaching staff in terms of expectations. No real WTF moments.

Smith, L. Collins and Zack Martin are all coming off season ending injuries. We don't know what shape they are in. LVEs 5th year option not picked up = no confidence in his return. No S help everyone has been screaming about. A lack luster draft. And everyone on here has Zeke in a wheelchair at this point in his career. So I ask again, where are the other 6 wins coming from? quiller
While I don't see a 13-4 season, I do think every game we play this season we can win. Sure odds are not good at all at KC. But the next toughest... at NO.. who plays QB... is there D healthy.. we can for sure beat them. Next after that opening day and what happens opening day is anybody's guess. And we should be healthy then. So sure why not 13-4 , I even disagreed with some of the losses that he projected. I see us beating the cards and falcons... as we are better on paper then both of those teams. BUT for this to happen: 1. Dak doesn't miss any games. 2. WE need to have our starting 5 OL to play at least 75% of the snaps and not have both our OT out at the same time. Martin also needs to play all year or miss just 1 game at the most. 3. zero key injuries on the D side WE didn't have any of these last year. remember we lost all but 1 of our secondary to start to the season and the 1 was a rook. WE also lost our main Key DL addition before the season started and after the draft. uh.. didn't address safety.. Neal, Kazee Kearse are all upgrades to our safety position. Sure Neal is "listed" as LB but believe me if healthy he is a upgrade to how we were using the safety position in the last few years. Texas_OutLaw7
Well, this is fascinating. @quiller I consider NO a bottom feeder team. Any reason why you hold them in such high regard?

No, but until I see production, consistency, healthy players and above all FUNDAMENTALLY sound football, I am left with the last 25 years of (most of those years) very highly talented football teams that lose due to stupidty, poor execution, missed assignments, poor tackling, no blocking, can't get pressure on the opposing QB,shall I go on? Im not looking at a piece of paper and predicting double digit wins again only to be saying ..."oh yeah..." by Thanksgiving.
