For me, I think Jets should play the value card on him.

He’s a guy that I don’t think should be picked that high for those exact reasons. He’s barely seen the field. Which if there were no other good corners in this draft at the top I’d say maybe take a shot on him. But we aren’t exactly a franchise that can take a shot in a guy. We need sure things. So for me… I’d rather stay away from him. That being said… if hutch and Kayvon are off the board than he might be ba for us. I don’t value S enough for a top 5 pick. I do value CB enough. My issue is more so that I like guys like Sauce and Elam more than Stingley bc they’re proven recently

Booth is good too. Wouldn’t touch Stingley personally

Yes I like Booth as well. The thing with Booth is that he’s a better tackler right now than cover guy. Physicality is his game. Something that the NFL is trying to shy away from. So not sure if use a top pick on him. Bc his style of play isn’t what the nfl is moving toward. Where guys like Sauce and even Stingley are cover specialist. Elam is more of a between guy.

GD I would do anything to get Hutchinson.  I bag on Q more than anyone (because he's not an elite player, he makes a few splash plays here and there) but he would easily have a shot at 15 sacks lol.  Getting Lawson back and Hutchinson would make this defense a million times better.

If we lose out on both Hutch and Thib then I want OT and grab Ojabo with the Seattle pick.  He's a great edge rusher.

I'm all for going for an Edge as our first pick. Like QB, we have haven't had one for over a decade and it's a game changing position.

I'm in the thought process of us not getting Hutch (bc he goes before us) but there's a chance we get Kayvon. If they're both gone. I see us going either Stingley, Neal or Hamilton. And oddly I think Neal is the only guy worth that pick and that I think is a sure thing.

Stingley as I mentioned several times... has barely played. And has had injury issues. Love him as a player. But when you haven't played a ton recently, you're a risk. We aren't a franchise that can take a risk in the top 5. 

Hamilton is a S. I don't value S enough to say he's worth a top 5 pick (see Adams). While he's a great player... FS doesn't alter a game enough to use this high of a pick on.

Which then brings me to Neal. Who is about as sure of a thing on an OLine you can get in a draft. Guy has literally played everywhere on the OL except C and has looked great doing it. Heck I even say he's better and more reliable than Becton that he should play LT and we should move Becton to RT. If we decide to keep Fant, he can even play RG for us as a rookie until we move him to OT. There's a lot of flexibility in drafting him.

Here's a list of Bama OL drafted in first two rounds 2010 - 2020:  Carpenter, Warmack, Fluker, Kouandijo, Ryan Kelly, Robinson, Williams, Wills.  Aside from Kelly, do any of them scream first round talent based on their pro play?  Wills is still young yet so it is tough to judge him.

Maybe Neal breaks that trend maybe not.

Past players don’t make a difference IMO. Neal can play plain and simple. And he’s played in several spots and has been great everywhere he’s played. He’s as close to a sure thing as it gets on an OL. Bc he has OT and OG experience at a high level. Best case scenario is you get a star OT. Worst case is you get a star OG.

This class is turning out to be pretty good in the positions we need. There are about 3-4 centers in this draft I like and long list of RG's including OT's that can switch to RG. On defense, all positions can be upgraded to be honest. Hard to miss there. There are some good TEs in this class as well. We will definitely fill a couple of our needs via free agency, but this class is what we really need so far. 

 

I'm pretty locked in on Devin Lloyd right now. With the other pick, we can go any direction and I won't be mad.

My point is that some of those names were "can't miss" players as well.  Warmack had a lot of hype prior to the draft.  Yes Neal can play, I've watched him.  My concern is the talent he has around him (like most bama players) may make him look better.  You and I have gone over this before regarding Wilson.  People like to say that a player who plays well may not be good if he does not play against good competition.  I agree with that.  What many fail to acknowledge are players looking better than they really are because of the talent around them on their college team.  Conversely, a player looking good against poor competition is frowned upon here.  How about also taking into account the lack of talent said player has to work with.

I like Neal.  I would just be concerned with him being another first round OL bust.  The list is relatively long.

 

Another thing I just thought of is why worry about a FRP OL?  Fant can play LT and Becton RT.  Why replace Fant?  I think we have bigger fish to fry this offseason.

If we lose out on both Edge then definitely go Neal.  I don't want a CB yet or that high, especially one who is injured.  The interesting pick would then be do we have a ****ing unreal OL and get Linderbaum or do we go Edge with that second pick?

Neal-AVT-Linderbaum-Vet-Becton

Grab a TE FA, bigger RB day 3 and then let the offense revolve around the OL and the RBs. Sheesh.

I believe before Wills, many OL had sold as T after one year at outside (moving from inside).  Wills had played outside two years in row. So has Neal. 

We should believe in Neal to man at least RT at next level without any problem.

Really liking Ojabo the more I watched Michigan highlights.  Great off the edge and 5 strip sacks.  Good hedge if Lawson lost explosiveness and moves to LE.
